The Ring transformer and instructions was all to get the right Voltage to the device. After realising this, this simple solution meant I was up and running within minutes without needing expert electrician attention and doing anything to my consumer unit (other than turning off the appropriate switch) and plugging into a normal mains plug - but of course its still worth double checking with a qualified one first.

This power adapter keeps RING DOOR BELL 2 charged but the outer casing of this transformer gets very hot. I am anxious it may over heat. Now disconnected. Ring have advised me VIIVRIA Is NOT compatible with Ring doorbell 2. Ring don’t advise purchase because a transformer is unnecessary. The Ring doorbell 2 can be powered by battery or hardwired to existing doorbell. If a transformer used than you must purchase a resistor to work with the transformer (25 Ohm / 50 Watt wirewound). This electronic resistor is essential. It replaces any mechanical or electronic doorbell and makes this (alternate) configuration work successfully. Ring also advise that wires should be soldered onto the resistor and a wire clip can be used on the other end. This unit is a waste of money and is potentially dangerous -- especially as the resister isn't installed. That's not acceptable. The seller's description of functionality purpose and suitability is inaccurate if not potentially dangerous. This transformer should not be marketed as appropriate for Ring doorbell. I requet refund of my money and Boost Deal -- please re-write your product display on Amazon.

I am happy with this purchase. I bought one for my doorbell and one for my brother’s doorbell, and it works great. No issue for installing. There is enough cable. Easy to have a constant power supply to the doorbell. Recommend buying!

What a load of rubbish....this is why I hate using Amazon sometimes 90% of the products are a joke, dont look like the picture or are just beyond the cheapest copies. Just like this plug...not once did it show a hardwired connection, now the plug itself is just useless.

The product arrived on time and does exactly what they say it does it is a good quality unit and at a very affordable price and value for money very efficient and save a lot of messing about should have bought it sooner

Works perfectly, no problems. Far cheaper that buying unusual size batteries for my camera doorbell. Easy to extend if required a little soldering and some heat shrink would do the trick.

Doesn't really work. My doorbell battery was slowly dropping by about 1 pc per day so not doing the job so sent it back.

Easy to install and works perfectly well. Would have been nice to have the option of a longer power lead.
