Great vest for sporting clays
This is a great shooting vest and it seems to be very well made. The nylon material sturdy and the large main pockets have a stiffening insert (non-removable) that help the pockets keep their shape, even with 2 boxes of 12ga shells in them. I typically only use the right pouch for shells. I keep my molded earplugs case and choke tube wrench in the left side. The main pockets measure 2.5" x 8" at the bottom and are 8" deep. They are easily large enough for a couple boxes of shells in each pocket. The openings of the main pockets are actually tapered from 2.5" in the front to about 1" at the rear. This taper felt weird to me so I took the pouches off and switched them right and left so the wider part of the taper was towards the rear where my hand typically enters the pocket. Switching the pockets wasn't as simple as it sounds. As another reviewer mentioned, neither the buckle or the finishing fold at the end of the belt will fit through the belt loops of the pouches. I actually had to cut the stitching in the fold at the end of the belt so it would pass through the buckle to remove it. One could simply cut the folded end off the belt and melt the end to prevent the webbing from fraying. Cutting the stitching at the end of the belt also allowed me to slide the loose "tail" of the belt into the loop of the side pouch to prevent it from flopping around. I wear 36" waist pants and have about 13" of belt left after adjusting the buckle to my liking. I guess that would allow adjustment out to almost a 49" for those who need it. With the side pouches slid up against the rear hull carrier, the side pouches sit just slightly forward of my 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock. There are "flat" pockets on the outside of the main pockets that measure 8" wide x 7" deep. I keep a small rag and little pocket knife in one of these flat pockets. The "glasses" pocket measures 6.5" wide x 4" tall x 1.25" deep. I use this pocket to keep my choke tube case in that holds 3 extended choke tubes. The "earplugs" pockets are about 2.5" square tapering from 0" at the bottom to about 0.75" at the top. I use one of these pockets to hold a tube of chap stick and the other holds spare light pipes for my fiber optic front sight. The rear hull carrier is about 18" wide x 8" tall with diagonal, elastic lined openings at the top corners. The openings are about 6" along the diagonal with the elastic stretched. I don't keep empties and keep gloves for cold days in the back hull carrier so it doesn't see much use. I can put a box of shells (in the box) in the openings but they don't seem to be as large as other vests. The hull carrier is mesh front and back with a 9" zipper at the bottom for easy emptying.Overall, this is a great vest for sporting clays or similar shooting activities. I like that the side pockets are sturdy enough to hold their shape not flop around as I walk and that the belt is stiff to hold the weight of shotgun shells without drooping, but this stiffness also makes it more difficult to fold up to place in my shooting bag. This small issue would be my only strike against this shooting vest.

Nice vest
I like this half vest for trap shooting, especially in the summer when I don't want to wear my full one. Love the pockets for storing my glasses and ear plugs. Found it a little awkward to save spent shells in the mesh bag on back. I thought that the 3 parts on this vest could come off as another brand advertised, so you could take off any of the 3 you don't use. But the stitching is too tight around the belt, neither the buckle or other end will fit through. If they had just done that this would be a 5 star item. (or I should have bought the other brand!)

Really nice half-vest for Sporting Clays.
I had a Bob Allen brand half-vest that I use for sporting clays, but it was a bit too flimsy. This one however is great. I don't use/need the ear pro pockets, etc, but the main pockets are study and the belt is wide. Fits great, we'll see how it holds up after an entire season, but so far so good.

Great Quality
I received my vest and my first impression was that it is a very well made product. The materials are thick and durable. I have no doubt that it’ll last me a lifetime.

Problems with half vest
Have purchased (2) of these. The first half vest seams began to separate after a couple months of usage. It became unusable. It appeared that the amount of material was insufficient to allow a good seam. Bought a second one and after a year or so the same type of problem occurred (i.e. seam around the full shell pocket began to pull apart. Don't think that I will buy another! Difficult to put empties in the rear compartment. Opening too small for easy entry. Maybe if it was larger the empties would fall out. Due to our weather I do use these quite often.

Well made
This bag is well made and sturdy. Has lots of pockets for all your gear. The only downside is it is heavy.

Summertime favorite
Better option in the summer. I have a G.P.S. mesh back trap full vest.. This Half vest is by far more comfortable during those summer shoots. The half vest has full mesh back pocket, both front canvas weight pockets are lined with mesh next to the body. Two pockets on both sides, One suitable for 1-2 boxes of shells. A second pocket in front for some shells. On top of those pockets are three smaller pockets, labeled for hearing protection or glasses.I typically carry 8 shot on one side and 7 1/2 shot on the other plus a box with chokes. Belt is firm and fully adjustable for most waist sizes.

Great all around pouch for trap or skeet shooting.
Fits well and has pockets for glasses and ear plugs. The pockets are large enough to easily hold two boxes of shells per side. The rear mesh pocket works great to hold empty hulls and has a zipper at the bottom of the pouch. I'm a 32" waist and I have the belt almost as tight as it can go and then the pouches get in the way of the buckle. Because of this I don't think it would fit a smaller waist than a 30-32".
