Juniper Berries 100% Natural – 4 oz (114 g)

I corned my own beef for St. Patrick's Day and these were needed for the recipe. They gave a wonderful flavor. I didn't need many so I'll have to find other uses as it's a good size pouch. More corned beef coming up. Really easy and delicious.

I LOVE cooking with juniper berries. I baked salmon steaks with a butter, juniper berry, and lime brush on marinade. Everyone was blown away by how good they tasted. Need to find some more recipes for them. I love the flavor they gave to the salmon. I also love gin which is made from them... so if your a gin lover, add some juniper berries to your cooking. ;)

Nothing wrong with them, but I do use them generously.

I figured to try these to up the flavor of cheap gin. It kind of does and might be interesting to try with cheap vodka, just for grins. No more than I know about the subject, I would say the berries seem decent and properly packed. Hey, its an experiment, yeah?

My local markets in southwest Florida didn’t carry juniper berries so I ordered online. The are very good quality.

I ordered this particular item because in the description it said “form factor: powdered.” I took this to mean they had been dried and ground. What I received was a whole berries, still containing a substantial amount of moisture. So to get them how I want it I needed to then dry them and grind them. They tasted great, but not what I ordered and I will order from someone else next time.

I was able to make a killer sauerbraten and some red cabbage. I'm now looking for other uses as it's quite a bit in the bag. Wish a small holiday pack was available, but other than that these were great!
