It’s a process, but it definitely saved me money, maybe not time though
I really like this product. A few things to note, it’s a bit of a process to deal with making the pods. Make sure you have a grinder that can grind to espresso size (or just buy finely ground coffee, but it tastes better freshly ground); you might want to consider getting a distribution tool (the things with all the metal spikes in it to help evenly distribute the grounds); the bamboo pod holder isn’t quite big enough for the biggest pod size; there is a high possibility of mold in your old pods, you really do have to clean them as soon as they get used To avoid this, (coffee + moisture + time = mold); the original foil for the pods are an absolute pain to remove, pro is you only have to do it once. Anywho, I usually do small batches for me and my husband for the week (2 per day plus a few extra, ~18) and it takes me about 30 minutes once I get all the stuff out. They run well in my nespresso vertuo plus and make comparable coffee to the original pods. Just remember, it can only ever be as good as the coffee you put into it.

Best foils for Nespresso pods.
I’ve tried most on the market and these are by far the best quality and the easiest to use. They fit the best and are very affordable.

Saves some chedda, but its kinda pain...
The system actually works, but as I've learned from the 50+ cups I've made: what you save in money, you spend in time and mess. The pro: its actually simple...you take the cup holder base (provided in the kit), put in a clean Vertuo pod (i.e. a pod that you previously made a cup of coffee with, emptied, remove most of the foil & cleaned) , then just fill it with freshly ground coffee, peel off a foil cap sticker (about 100 come in the kit), place that sticker loosely in place over the edge of the newly filled pod (making sure that you put it on fairly straight), take the "presser downer" ring (also provided in the kit) and rotate, making sure there is a tight seal between the foil and cup. Pretty straightforward (after doing it once). However, the negatives are that you have to clean out the old cups (or at least a bunch of them), remove the original foil seals using a box cutter (can be dangerous with a sharp knife and wet hands) and make sure any new coffee you just poured into pod/cup isnt interfering with the seal on the lip of the cup...There's a knack to it but its not super hard, just takes 'a feel'. Coffee tends to get all over the place. It takes time. Its messy. It takes some experimentation to fill the right kind of cup, with the right amount and grind of coffee... Know that pods have a bar code on them that tell the vertuo machines how much water, time & pressure to pump into the pod to make the brew... so the same coffee will brew different with different color & sized pods... I overfilled a couple pods, thinking that would result in a stronger cup, but when I overfilled a pod, it would tend to overpressurize during the brew and blow off the foil, making a bigger mess inside the coffee maker itself. Message to you...DONT OVERFILL THE PODS... but underfilling or using too coarse a grind means watery weak coffee. So, be prepared to play around with different variables. There *is* a solution to the math. My bottom line is that it did save me a few dollars, but the hassle only seems to pay off when I drink a lot of cups...Between the cost of the bulk coffee, the kit cost (a one time investment) and the foil stickers (cheap, but an ongoing cost) , I estimate that I saved roughly 25%-33% of the cost vs. the pre-filled cups...so maybe $0.25-$0.30 cents per cup...that will add up, but it ain't going to make you rich quick... After some experimentation, I now tend to get pretty good cups from store bought, cheaper coffee...If you are a busy mom or dad, or working person...it might not be worth it...but for the 'coffee-a-holic', starbucky guzzler who has more time on their hands but tends to get annoyed at the price of brand named coffee, this might just work for you.

Adds another dimension to this excellent coffee machine
Nespresso Vertuo plus is a very good coffee machine. The only flaw with this machine is the price for the pods! Not to mention the limited flavors of coffee available. I am not a huge fan of hacks but this one is actually worth it. I have a good coffee grinder and I buy beans from various sources. While my espresso machine is perfect for that, the Nespresso is very convenient to pop a pod and enjoy, This little gizmo works to bridge the gap! I prepared the pods by choosing different sized pods and prepping them by removing the foil and filling with finely ground coffee and sealing with the adhesive foils. Everything works fine and there was no leakage. The coffee produced was good quality and flavorful. The crema was adequate and I believe there is a lot of room for improvement as I am still experimenting with the grind size, tamper pressure and amount of coffee per pod. The coffee beans you buy determines the flavor ultimately. The average cost of a pod is $1.25 plus and refilling it brings it down to less than a third. My wife thinks I am crazy to go through all the trouble but I think it is worth every grind! The downside is that it takes time and effort to prepare a pod versus popping one that's already made for you. I only use this on the weekends when I have extra time to putz around. Weekdays it is straight to ready pods or espresso which is way quicker. Life is full of compromises but this makes it worthwhile every now and then!

Do what they are meant to!
We enjoy our Nespresso machine, but even more now that we can use our own coffee! It only takes a couple minutes to grind some beans and make fresh pods. It took a little trial and error to get the right grind and fill level, but now it is really easy. Saves money and we get our preferred flavors.

Loved them at first, but then...
After purchasing and falling deeply in love with my Nespresso Vertuo machine, I began the search for off-market coffees that would work in the machine. That’s when I stumbled across these Vertuo capsule foils. After thoroughly reading quite a few reviews from this product and its nearest competitor, I decided on the Geesta for a couple of reasons, but mainly because I liked the wooden stand, and preferred the brush style to the competitor. I really wanted to love these, and I quickly got into a rhythm of cleaning, refilling and resealing the Vertuo pods. I liked the idea of being able to prepare a bunch of them at one time, so they would be ready to go when needed. Once I cleaned, refilled and sealed approx. 40 reused Vertuo pods with a new favorite coffee, I stored the pods in my new Vertuo pod storage drawer, where the pods are stored on their sides under the machine. A couple of days after refilling and sealing the pods, I noticed that coffee grounds began appearing under the storage drawer, and while retrieving a pod to use in the Nespresso machine, I realized that the foils were not sealed properly. I immediately pulled all of the refills out of the storage drawer, and all of them had opened up. After taking some time to examine them, I assumed that perhaps I had not properly sealed them, because I noticed the end of the brush that is used to press down and seal the foils was a little wide. So, I removed all the re-opening foils from the Vertuo capsules, rebrushed them around the rim, and went about re-sealing them with new foils using the back side of a small, metal espresso spoon this time, which seemed to give a more consistent and flatter seal. I thought I had figured out how to fix the initial issue, but alas — a few days more, they began to unseal again. If anyone reads this and has any tips or hints, I’m open to all suggestions! I wish I could give this 5-stars, because it’s an amazing idea, saves a ton of money, and allows you to use your favorite coffee.

Works great! Saves money!
I can’t recommend this more. I’ve had it for four months. I started with a good supply of about 30 original pods, so I could rotate them. I make about 15 at a time (I drink one cup a day) They are super easy to make. The original pods were a little more difficult to open, you need a good exacto knife, and I had a small craft one that made it easier. Once that was done, the already refilled ones are easy to peel off and refill. Filing with your favorite coffee is easy, and the holder supports the pod. Use the brush to clean the edges off. Placing the new seal on is a little bit of a learning curve, but it’s not too hard. I use the other end of the brush the run around the inside of the edge to help seal, then press the rest down firmly and any extra down around. Some people have said their machine quit running with these refilled pods but I’ve had absolutely no problem. Does it take some time? Sure, you have to open the pods, empty the coffee, wash the pods, dry them, and sit down to refill them. I do most of this in front of the TV with a movie on. So really on my down time.

Great product, easy to use and works as expected (with some patience)
The holder / sealer is excellent! Great quality, easy to use, and great seal (once aligned). The lids could be a bit thicker but they work great (once aligned). My first attempt, I thought it looked aligned well but the machine (Nespresso Virtuo Next by Breville) thought differently. Apparently part of the stickiness was exposed (near the tab area) which resulted in a small tear, sticking to ejector, and slight grain discharge. I used a 7.7 oz cup pod with fine grain Lavazza Gran Aroma light roast. On the second pass, I ensured to align the tab on the lid with the tab position on the sealer and pod was much better looking. There was NO issue in the second pass. The coffee brewed nice and frothy just like an original pod and the taste was perfect. The compared the scooper provided to the one I normally use in my drip machine. The provided scoop is about 2.5 tablespoons. The grain to water ratio was about the same as I use in my drip machine (1 heaping tablespoon to 7 oz water). Next try will be with a reused 18 oz Caraffe pod! Happy with the results so far! Definitely need to refill the pods ahead of time as it takes some time to align correctly.

Excellent - Je recommande
A recommander.

FANTASTIC PRODUCT!
I decided to purchase this product as my Nespresso order was going to take two weeks to arrive due to Covid. WOW, I am very very impressed! very easy to use, some reviews suggest that the glue on the foils is not strong enough, well I think it is perfect. the pod holder is very handy also to help line up the foil. it took me 40 seconds to create my first pod, from cleaning out the old one to placing in the machine. i work out that it costs roughly 0.15p a pod -v-0.39p for original nespresso espresso pods. I find that i get sick of the taste of the Nespresso coffee after a while. Now i can go to my local roaster and get freshly roasted coffee to use in my Nespresso. 100% would recommend! 5 stars.

Perfect fit!
Perfect as expected!
