The clamp screw must be righted with a tool every time position is changed. A rubber and metal washer would solve that problem. The vinyl rod protectors keep falling off. They should have been glued on. The drain hold is drilled on the wrong side Leavin a small amount of water in the tube all the time. Item Price is reasonable for stainless steel.

I have a 15' Mako Pro Skiff, so we aren't talking about a monster sportfisherman here. I wanted to add two rod holders to the forward gunnels that I could aim in any direction depending on if I'm trolling or anchored up live baiting. This item works perfectly. Heavy duty and well engineered to cover just about any angle you will ever need. Just 4 stainless screws or bolts in my gunnel holds the base where it won't even think about budging. The best thing is you can take the holders off and stow them leaving just the base plate visible. Keeps the boat looking clean. I take them off when heading to the ramp or a dock so they won't get bumped by the dock or interfere with dock lines. Great product, I'm thinking of adding two more to the rear gunnels.

Look great on the boat. Great range for adjusting rod position. Well made. Also found when they are folded down when not in use. They make a nice grab point when getting on and off boat at dock
