LEWIS LIFETIME TOOLS D-6C Sod Aerating Tool

I've got item as expected; logistics worked well.The tool appears to be functioning only half way. One tube is extracting dirt absolutely fine, while other is getting jammed due to a deformation (caused by welding process?).I guess this is the downside of buying cheap handmade items online - you can inspect them and manufacturer didn't bother ether...Never the less, if you are lucky, you may end up with a very nice aeration tool.

I have a fairly small yard, so picked up one of these a little over 2 years ago. I only used it once/year (i.e. twice), but it worked okay for my purposes. I always had to have a long screwdriver handy to clear out the tubes when they clogged, but I usually didn't water the lawn much before using so the soil was quite dry (I.e. clogging was likely my fault).Overall it seemed to work well for the 2 seasons I used it. The 3rd season just started, so I pulled it out to aerate some tougher areas and it snapped at the welds between the handle and the lower portion after a few pulls.So, I can't recommend this aerator as it doesn't seem to last, especially considering the limited use it had. I recall my Dad had one from the 70's that lasted more than. 20 years on a much larger lawn. so 2 years doesn't cut it I my book. It met my (very non-rigorous) needs for 2 years, but didn't last. So, I'm in the market for a much stronger one.
