The Blackwood Saga: Books 1-3 (Boxed Set)

Page Turner. Good story , great characters , good writing , so many plot twists. I have enjoyed reading these books.

I enjoyed the characters and the devotion of the brothers. Multiple worlds and dimensions weaved with a magnificent variety of creatures seen from different perspectives.

Until you get to the end of book 3 and it’s not over even though that it how it’s sold as a trilogy. Also by the end of the last book everything is just ripped away from the heroes and the villain automatically knows who they are from their fathers journal which he could have gotten in book one. Guess the books were selling well enough he wanted more profit and ruined a good series.

Great storyline with well-planned, evolving characters. Tons of adventure!Some might be a little disappointed at the somewhat corny D&D-esque portrayal of magic and monsters. I wouldn't go so far as to call it 'sparkly', but I couldn't quite shake the sense of levelled enemies, weapons with plus one magical buffs, and a magic meter. Still...if you're a gamer, I don't think you'll mind the style in the least.

The stories are so good you can't help feeling Caleb as the sensitive brother the one I feel is slowly coming into his own power. Will is just such a hero, I have my own I imagination to help me deal with Will. I believe to see him now all buffed and bad ass, women would die to have 1 night with Will. The oldest Valjean he is slowly mastering his power as a spirit mag. I is wonderful journey to watch them grow.

I'm half way through book 2 and it just keeps getting better. Great characters and full of fantasy action.

This box set is really good. Good characters, fast paced and exciting. I had never heard of the author but saw it offered as a cheap read and took the bait. I have already downloaded the next one from kindle library and recommend the series to everyone.

I could not put this trilogy of pure unadulterated escapism down for a second. The characters especially the Blackwood brothers are described so well that I felt like I could really picture them in my minds eye. You were rooting for them in every quest and battle they fought. The author has left me with a raging appetite for the next two books. I would highly recommend these amazing books to everyone I know

Gripped from the very first page, can't stop reading

As I've said in other reviews I like urban fantasy, this is not quite that but a breathless read all the same. Modern young men are transported to a parallel earth and fall into one adventure after another... All plausible in this magic world! Except for the heroes never really getting more than a scratch Inspite of plenty of battles....well they are the heroes after all. Different characters with agendas...all in all a rollicking ride!

Layton Green’s ability to give you a clear vision of each character, make them relatable and to paint each scene and encounter the characters have impressed me immensely. I look forward to the next two books!
