LEGOFriends 41039 Sunshine Ranch

This Lego Friends set is one of the nicer ones. Once assembled, it's a little roomier and easier to play with than some of the others. The chicken coop is adorable and very functional, the stable doors were a hit with my 6 year old, who by the way did most of the build herself. Very child friendly and lots of fun once the build is done!

This was my 5 year old daughter's first "real" Lego set. We've had duplos in the past...but this was her first set of big girl legos. She LOVES it. We worked together on putting it all together. She was able to follow the directions (sometimes had questions, but for the most part could follow along on her own). As a parent, I found the directions very easy to follow along and it was nice how they separated legos into different bags for the different parts of the play set you were building. That was much better than having one big pile of legos. Like a lot of lego sets we've seen recently...there are many extra pieces (which sometimes gets a bit alarming because you aren't sure if you missed a piece in a step somewhere!).Overall, I would (and my daughter would) recommend this set. Many areas of play...many characters (two girls and three horses) to play with.

My granddaughter and my daughter were so happy with this set last Christmas. It is adorable! They put it together the day after Christmas and had a blast with it. Then they just got it out a couple weeks ago on a rainy day and put it together again. My granddaughter is still playing with it. Love Legos and this set is precious!

My 8 year old daughter had started saving for a Lego Friends 'big' set at Christmastime. She added her birthday money to the pot and had decided on this set to buy. I decided to get it for her for Easter along with the newborn foal set, sunshine harvest set and the newborn lamb set. She played the entire day with this set! It does take some time to put together, but true Lego fans think that's half the fun : ) She loved the first floor of the barn with the stalls for the horses and thinks the upstairs is the coolest as it's a little apartment for her Lego Friends! There's a cute bathroom (the first bathroom I have seen and I have been playing with Legos for over 40 years!), a small bedroom and then a kitchen-ette with a dining table and a fireplace. It's just such a fun and complete set. Many animals, food (her favorite accessory) and plenty of ribbons, bows, combs, brushes, etc...Hours and hours of fun and enjoyment!

My five-year old girl loves it. We both like the idea of having her play with "girl" characters, rather than the standard LEGO boy characters. It is great to watch my daughter figure out the directions, which can be pretty complex. Our girl is pretty darn advanced for her age, but this is her first "complicated" Lego set, and she would not be able to build it correctly without a bit of adult assistance here and there. Perhaps is she had been brought up immersed with LEGOs this would not be the case. I think LEGO nailed it when saying this kit is right for kids age 6-12. Younger kids will like it, but require a little supervision.This is a bit of a random observation, but one of the major points behind coming up with the LEGO Friends kits is to give girls a sense of empowerment and to break away from those "girly" stereotypes. I think this kit works toward that goal nicely. However, have you seen the "LEGO Friends Heartlake Mall" kit? C'mon LEGO, girl empowerment by showing girls shopping at the mall? Really?

My 5-year-old granddaughter LOVES lego friends and has several of the smaller sets. She requested this larger set and was thrilled to receive it! She sits patiently for hours working on the building and the design of the Sunshine Ranch, its' accessories and her other lego friends sets. This set has everything advertised and is a wonderful toy for creative children!

This gift was for a seven-year-old, and when she opened it, she proclaimed that it was the bigger set and she was so happy because she thought she'd only be getting a smaller set........and of course I had no idea there was a smaller Lego Friends set.............so there you go. She sat hugging it to her and even tried to bring it to the dinner table. At least she figured it would be best to wait until she got it home to open it and build it--otherwise our family cats would have had a grand time chasing errant little pieces around the house. I'd recommend any of the Lego sets because I've bought many of them and each one has been a huge hit. Not a disappointment among the dozen or more sets, large and small, I've bought in the last few years.

A very nice Lego kit for girls (my boys love it too :-). Quite detailed and lots of little pieces - too hard for my 4 1/2 year old, but it's one she'll grow into and enjoy over the years.

Have not opened it but our 6 year old granddaughter asked for this as a "big" birthday gift...and suggested a few of us go together for it.
