I received my remote on the expected delivery date. I could not get it to work at all. I tried many times to open the back and I could not. My son-in-law found it on YouTube, and got it open for me. I was pushing on the little button on the back and trying to slide it apart and it would not move. (I put some Vaseline on the slides for easier future opening.) The back & side are one piece, the front slides down, you-'ll see an open space at the top, turn it over and the battery area is exposed. The button on the back is not a release button. It does not come with the required to Triple-A batteries. I give it a 5 star rating because it works wonderfully! I did contact the seller but apparently there was some language discrepancies! They need to add directions!

The cover is darn near impossible to open. Once I was able to get a tiny lip, I had to wedge a key in and pry-slide it open. Requires AAA batteries instead of AA like most. But, once open, it worked without having to program it to our specific TV, which was good. I will update in a few weeks to reflect whether or not it keeps working (it feels a little cheap in the hand).

I thought it was impossible to put batteries in the remote. Watched the video and now I can open it in a few seconds. Holding it upside down with your thumbs near the upper part of control surface, press and slide the top away from the bottom.

I had to go on the Internet do a Google search to find how to put batteries in this remote control. Furthermore, the cursor seems to work only in the down direction direction. It's OK for now, but I really regret not buying an exact replacement my original remote control .

Had to return it. Battery compartment couldn't even open. Didn't want to take a chance on another one and waste my time. TV is old anyway, XBR4

complete piece of crap. impossible to open to put batteries in , case acts like it is glued shut. Tried everything including , after working for 20 minutes gave up and smashed against granite tabletop to open every thing came out of case except battery case would STILL not slide. total waste of my time and money. Now will have to find another seller. DO NOT BUY THIS REMOTE.

A little difficult to open in order to insert the batteries, however it works great with the TV. No setup required.
