Although Gold is a VERY nice color, I was looking for a lion head to mount in my home garage gym that matched my decor- most of my fixtures are silver. So, I found a can of metallic silver spray paint and lightly went over the Lion's head AND Viola! It came out beautifully! Here is why I think this worked...The Lions has deep and detailed etching to give it a distinguished look so if you don't want a gold lion's head, any color of quality spray paint will work to transform the lion's head into your new color of choice. Just use a light hand and consider 2 coats on a descent day with low to no wind. I used metallic spray paint by Rust-Oleum and I had it up on the wall in an hour.I hope this helps someone who is undecided. It's a good wall piece and I would HATE to see someone pass on this just because it is not their preferred color. I took the chance of possibly ruining mine by painting it, so you don't have to! :) I can tell you from experience- It works!

The material is sturdy , heavy weighed poly cast resin for high definition of the art works details . The size is perfect for grand decoration style as a duo and best for accent , small dead corner of the room in the single setting . The only 1 star of for the quality finishing , the gold is true 18K spray paint , more like satin finish and dull . I wish the color would be a bit more richer , shinier and more metallic to enhance the angles and many strokes of the lion s mace .I am a professional interior designer . I bought 2 for the small entry way with artificial LED lights from the ceiling .
