Great little unit.
Very easy to see in any light conditions. Looks bright, even when in direct sunlight. It doesn't come with a cover, so you'll want to order one if you need one. I used it the other day in the rain and it had no problem. The sonar works great and they're not kidding when they say that you can clearly make out fish using the down vision. It's very clear. In map mode I can see the details of the bottom contours great while underway. I connected it to my iPad and can see the exact same image on my iPad, which is a great addition when you need a larger screen. It even allows you to zoom in, pause, and scroll back and forth from your iPad. I can have the sonar up on my iPad and the map on the Dragonfly or vice versa also. More than one device can connect wirelessly so I can be using it to find a fishing spot while someone else watches for fish. We took it out this weekend and used it to spot locations for spring striper. They were easy to find in a spot we had never fished before and we were able to land some great fish. Very happy with this unit.

Great unit with useless free offer
So far I have loved this unit. The only complaint I have is it comes with c-map and they offer an upgrade to 4D for free for your area, however the SD card it comes with is not big enough for the free upgrade nor can you copy it to a larger one. When I called them about it they said most people don’t use the upgrade because the dragonfly can’t use most of the features so they only use 4gb cards. That’s fine, but why even offer it then? Why not just say here is C-Map essentials for free, enjoy and leave it at that instead of wasting peoples time

com had the best price when you consider if you use Amazon Prime
Did some research prior to ordering the RAYMARINE DRAGONFLY-5 PRO Sonar/GPS. I decided this unit would fit my budget. The hardest part was the installation of the transducer , as it is little larger than the unit I was replacing. The boat has not been on the water as of this post. However after I powered up the Dragonfly GPS the unit did pin-point my location in my back yard. The Dragonfly does not come with a extensive owners manual but you can obtain one from LULU.com. Checking out the features with this unit are almost self explanatory, but the manual I believe will be big help. Again Amazon.com had the best price when you consider if you use Amazon Prime , no additional shipping cost on most purchases . I hope to have the boat on the water by the end of August and would like to give an update to this review.

The screen is super bright and can be seen in full sun
The screen is super bright and can be seen in full sun. The controls are relatively easy to use and the unit identifies fish in deep water. It won't make the fish bite though, a severe fault. It is very frustrating to see huge fish that won't bite? The screen is easy to get fingerprints on it and it is hard to get it clean. The Wi-Fish function is cool and you can save screens on your phone. The split screens are nice, but you can not move position of screens. It takes quite a while to boot up and changing views takes several seconds. The transducer is 6 inches long and sticks out from the back of the boat, a potential problem. Overall it is quite good. It does find fish, it is up to you to catch them.

The unit itself is quite amazing! Very good sonar and downscan
The unit itself is quite amazing! Very good sonar and downscan. Almost as good as my higher end Lowrance. I mounted it on my Viking Reload Profish Kayak on the Tackle Pod. The transducer is long and barely fit, but it does. The reason for 3 stars is the fact that it came with C-Map and it was expired. I couldn't update it or get an upgrade. I have to pay $150 to get a Navionics chip so I had good lake and gulf maps. I was pretty disappointed by that. If I had to rate the unit on its own, it would have been 5 stars.

Good product for my 19 footer
It works great, I really like it so far. The only problem is it seems to take 10+ minutes to locate itself before i can use the charts. But I'm still figuring out the device, and I would buy it again.

Rebate glitch
The fishfinder is good. Raymarine Hot Summer Deals are tricky. Be sure to check not just the Item and model number but the map package also. This could decline your rebate.

Great unit for smaller boats!
Awesome Marine GPS. I have a GPS for my truck, car and motorcycle. This boating GPS is new to me. Great unit talking to others here in Key West... I've used it now and love it.
