Must Read!
This book is a great read. First catapults the reader into a difficult health situation which inevitably we or someone we love will be faced with. Next it reminds us of God's presence and how he's using ever situation to get our attention. Jaannie Gaffigan will have you laughing and nodding your head throughout her own personal story. We all need this book!

Great read- love the gaffigans
Overall really enjoyed it. Starts very slow in my opinion but don’t want to ruin anything. Just know it gets better as you go along. It did bother me that she Is a Christian yet says “Oh my God” throughout the book. That is taking Gods name in vein. Other than that, I thought it was well written and my heart went out to her and what she went through. I think women will enjoy her persceptive more than men but I did enjoy it and I am a man.

6 stars!!
Best book I have ever read! This is exactly what I needed to read during this crazy pandemic as it is so inspiring and even super applicable to what we are going through right now. What an uplifting story of struggle and hope. Turn off the news and read this instead and hopefully like me your anxiety will melt away because there is so much you can take from her experience and wisdom and apply it to what we are going through now. Jeannie is an amazing writer, deep, honest, and downright HILARIOUS!!!!! I bought this book for my mom and an aunt (who actually herself had a brain tumor) to read but I also planned to sneakily read it myself before I gifted it to them ;) So glad I did! Well not that I had a choice because as soon as I started reading I couldn't put it down. I love how she shared her faith, the good, the bad, and the ugly and even if you are not a believer you will still love this book because she shares in such an approachable and nonjudgemental way. I cannot say enough good things about this book it also just makes me want to move to NYC and be one of Jeannie's BFFs she just seems so darn fun. Jeannie please write another book or start a blog or podcast I need more of this in my life!! ~Marlene

Just .....
I bought this kindle book hoping to laugh. I wasn’t prepared to feel so much more than the humor that this book provides. About the same time Jeannie was in the hospital going through so much, my mom was also in the hospital after suffering from a major stroke. I was forced to make the decision to try and keep my mom alive and authorized several torturous life saving devices including feeding tubes and eventually a stomach peg. My mom was furious with me. To this day I struggle with my decisions yet reading Jeannies story has helped me understand that my mom was angry with being sick and having her self control removed from her. While reading I would pause and laugh and share Jeannie’s sense of humor with my college age daughter, prefacing the humor with “I know this story is about a woman who survived a brain tumor but...” and then we would laugh together. So, yes, I would highly recommend this book.

Poignant, moving, funny and inspiring!
A tender, honest and humbling story of how one incredibly smart, strong and sassy woman overcame a life or death challenge, while managing a funny famous husband and 5 young children. A beautiful story of faith, family and the true value of life. Loved it!

I laughed...I cried...
What would we do without people who can make us laugh? Especially as we cope with tough times. Jeannie Gaffigan opens the veil ( or should I say cranium?) into one of the most challenging times in her and her family’s life. We get to know the comedic duo in light of the discovery and consequent removal of her brain tumor. Part spiritual insight, deep personal reflection, and laugh out loud medical trauma memoir. I appreciated her honesty in sharing the challenges of navigating life post surgery. Behind this funny man (Jim Gaffigan) is a very talented and funny woman without whom this world would be one sad hot pocket.
