Russkoe Pole Buckwheat, 53 oz

One of my side-quest missions in life is to refer as many people as possible to this specific product on Amazon so they can experience the superior grain for themselves. I was first introduced to buckwheat by a Ukrainian co-worker, but even the Whole Foods in my city doesn’t carry proper buckwheat and a trip to another town with a European store isn’t convenient. Although I can’t read the Russian writing on the bag, I like the packaging design. I’m a geography and history nerd and it makes me feel like I’m eating real Soviet buckwheat. I’ve lost count how many bags I’ve ordered off Amazon. It comes double sealed and always tastes fresh. It’s more filling than rice, but lower in calories and higher in protein. It also cooks up faster than rice and has enough flavor to be eaten plain. I’m off to go cook a pot now.

I had never used whole buckwheat. I've been trying to eat more whole grains. They feel like rocks and I thought they were old or something. I was wrong. They soften quickly when cooked and the aroma and flavor is amazing. You can cook them long and slow for a soft porridge, or shorten the time and have them more al dente like steel cut oats. I prefer them a little stiffer. I have also cooked them part way and mixed the wet meal into quick bread. It adds a great texture. I definitely recommend this brand.

This buckwheat brand is the best we have ever found in USA. All my family members love it. Easy to cook, a staple food, and we have at least once a week.

Used to always buy "W" brand. Way overpriced. This kasha is simple the best from the people that know their Kasha.

Be aware! Horrible!!! The packages were open. And the quality of the buckwheat was so so bad! It can’t be used. Lots of black buckwheat and there were small stones!

This buckwheat is great quality and a fantastic value! The price is better than what I’ve found at Walmart and other stores, making it an even better deal. Definitely recommend!
