Good Darjeeling but not the bestToo light for my taste, having been brought up in West Bengal ( where Darjeeling is) with reasonably good understanding of this very special tea

Incredible value for money
I am a wine blind taster, and my passion for wine extends to tea which is similar in certain respects, for example, variety, terroir, maturation, etc. This is quintessential first flush darjeeling, light and delicate, flowery and nutty, and without any harsh tannins. Several of my friends who are into blind tasting have commented on the quality of this tea, and it is now my 'house tea'. As it is so delicate, avoid taking it with milk or sugar. NB: I have also tried the second flush, which is made from riper leaves. It is very good tea, but not as balanced as this one.

First Flush...
Second Flush Margaret's Hope is my idea of what a great Darjeeling should be about, and I was hoping the first flush would have echoes of its later harvest in its flavours. It wasn't. I'm sure it its way, it's a very fine tea, but it tasted very young, grassy and astringent, and I'm not a great fan of green or even most oolongs, and that is what I tasted in this first flush, even though it was described as a black tea. So I felt a bit disappointed, but hey, you live and learn.
