Good nods but....
Great nods any way you look at it, but requires a thorough search of what seems to be proprietary j arms due to the dovetail mounting system on the monocular itself. I opted for a jdapt plate(feels like a must for this system) with a regular j arm(You'll have to find one that will actually curve around the housing in just the right manner). The eyepiece is definitely smaller than a pvs14s but I didn't notice it too much once I had everything mounted. Though, I did have to have the eyepiece closer to my eye. Performance wise I'd say there was no discernable difference from any other gen 3s out there(I've used a quite a few of monos and duals for a significant amount of field time). There were no blemishes whatsoever in the image that I've seen so far. Overall, a good purchase with a minus for the mounting system.

NVG
Basic Gen-3 tube with zero blemishes. Very happy! Under 2600$ for Gen-3 is a steal.

Not as expected
I am not certain as to whether I expected better visualization with the higher end unit but I not impressed with the ability to recognize known objects in darkness which was only broken by a far off street light.

The best under rated nightvision device
I have had this unit, the ATN PS31s Gen 2+for almost a year Now. Actually got to use them and operate with them in the military and they are amazing. Probably the best set of NVGs you can get for the money. The quality of picture you get is pretty crisp and I can always identify what I’m looking at. The battery life is very good. I got around 23 hours out of a single 123A battery and I also have the battery pack which puts me at over 300 hours of NVG use. The IR Illuminator is very bright but it also has a setting on the NVGs that when you enter dark spaces it will automatically turn on the IR. You can have that setting on or off. My favorite feature about these is that it has auto shut off when the tubes get rotated up and out of your face. Great for saving battery and even better than having to put them in the stowed position. The only con that I have with this product and it’s not really a con at all. The tubes that you are looking through have a smaller diameter than normal PVS31s or PVS14s. That being said it does have to be a little closer to your face than others but it doesn’t cause any issues or create any problems with viewing. It’s more of just something that I noticed. Amazing products for amazing prices and I couldn’t have got a better deal anywhere else. Thanks ATN.
