Melissa & Doug Paint With Water Activity Set - Garden (20 Pages)

I'm very happy with this book.My father in law is an artist. He also has Alzheimer's disease.We are at a stage in his life where he is unable to paint independently. He can't figure out what to do to start painting on a blank page. He can't choose from a palate with lots of colors.This book was a game changer. It's got a limited amount of colors (6). The pictures have wide defined lines which makes it easy to create something that looks great. It feels like real painting.The subject matter is child like, but that's because its targeted at young children. The book itself doesn't indicate that it's for kids on the cover, which is great because it wont make an elderly person feel uncomfortable.This product brought him a lot of joy.

I thought these were just paint with water but each page has water color paint at the top. My 2 year old likes to just dip in the water and paint so it'll take some practice to get the brush in water, paint, paper.

My 3year old granddaughter loved it. After buying one and her enjoying it so much I brought a couple more.. She loved the way the colors appeared with just water on the brush. Only wish the pages could of been more durable. So much easier at this age than having to deal with paints for sure.

My kids love these. The pictures are big enough for small kids but detailed enough for older kids as well. Colors at top seem adequate to paint the whole page. Reasonably easy cleanup. My only reason for 4 stars is that I feel in order to get a good consistency to spread the paint you have to add so much water that the paper gets soft at the top where the paint is.

Our 5 year old daughter is the perfect age for these. It lets her independently create art and paint with her big brother but without the enormous mess than is her painting with acrylics. Will continue to buy these until she is at a different developmental stage. We have gotten these for her since she was maybe 2-3 years old.

This was so much fun--we didn't use brushes--but our finger and was GREAT!!! Just dip finger in water and go!!

Good product, nice way to begin painting for kids. The paint quantity is enough for the painting if used properly, that good learning for kids too. I wish the paint had a plastic strip under it, kids tend to dip in water too much or rub the brush on paper too much and this sometimes results in a hole in the paper, so supervision is required in the beginning.

This is so much fun and the recipient boy or girl will love it. I remember a similar one when I was younger. Just get a paintbrush or even a q-tip and a cup of water and your little artist can paint away.
