Always wanted one of these
Five gallon buckets, new or used, are useful all over the house and yard. The replacement lids that screw on are fine but expensive. For buckets you don't need to get into frequently, this tool makes the original lid easy to get off and on without a struggle. Solid one piece aluminum construction is easy to carry and will last forever if used correctly.

Extremely helpful!!!
I decided to tap maple trees with my class of Kindergarten students. One cold morning I went to open the 5 gallon bucket to show the students all the sap in the bucket and I couldn't get the bucket open. Three other adults also tried and could not open them and we were surrounded by sad 6 year olds who were very disapointed we could not open the buckets. Then I bought this and was able to open the buckets! Even the 5 and 6 year olds were able to open the buckets with this tool. 10000000/10 recommend!

Works as intended
Better than a plastic equivalent, I don't expect it to break. Geometry is a little not as good as my plastic one, but works well enough. I would purchase again.

Made life easier
This tool has saved my hands and fingers when opening buckets. Quick easy and sturdy- and gets the job done. Glad I purchased this one instead of the cheap plastic ones. Great investment.

Good product for the price but not premium
I use this primarily for food storage buckets and it works great. It also came in handy when opening large paint buckets. For the price I think it is an excellent little tool. My only criticisms are that it is short. For most buckets this will do the trick but if you had one that was particularly difficult it might be nice to have a longer handle so that you can get more leverage. Second critique is that this unit is very light. It is not heavy enough to use as a hammer to put the lids back on a food storage bucket. This isn't that big of deal because most everybody has a hammer avaliable and what I really needed was a lever and that's what I got. Again a good product for the price but it's not a premium product.

Open and Shut Case!
This pail opener is a real finger nail and tool saver! Now, even my arthritic hands have the leverage necessary to remove a lid from either a paint can or food service bucket. The mallet end makes sealing a bucket as easy as it is to open using the Winco tool. My husband is thrilled too, as I am no longer raiding his tool chest and using any old screw driver, chisel or hammer to open and seal our pails. The design with the pry tool snd sealing mallet on the same device is genius!Once you get yours, I will bet you will be in the shop or garage trying it out on buckets and pails the same day like I was👍

Great for getting drills stored in buckets out of the buckets after Hurricane Irma.
BUY THIS ONE...do not buy any of those cheap plastic pail openers.I have dozens of buckets 3-5-7 gallon buckets with gamma lids and without gamma lids. When I store 25 year food I use buckets without gamma lids and thus need something to open them with eventually.I also put things in buckets stacked in garage that I don't use often to keep whatever is inside clean and dry and need a pail opener to open them. This year since I had buckets left over.I put my drills and other expensive and inexpensive small power tools and other tools into buckets with regular lids ahead of Hurricane Irma to keep them from getting wet as that would ruin them. After I returned, I opened the buckets with this pail opener - no problem. I actually have 2 of them and had to order a 2nd since I have no idea in the rushing around to evacuate the area what I did with the first. All I know is the plastic pail opener I have in the garage did not work well at all to open regular 3-4-7 gallon buckets so I gave up and ordered a 2nd Winco pail opener. That useless plastic opener is why I ordered the first WInco pail opener.
