Dinky and super sweet
As cuddly toys go, this is on the dinky side, but it’s also one of the sweetest and cutest as well. The airbrushed fur gives the impression of intricate detail and a much more natural-looking tone to the fur, far superior to the normal single-ink-colour of most of our childrens’ cuddly toy collections. The face is an odd hybrid- it does look a little bit like a pomeranian, somewhat, but what it looks far more like is that classic and ubiquitous pouty generic teddy bear face, the one with the sad eyes that seem to be calling out desperate to be loved. So when it comes to realism, I’m far from convinced about the face- but for an adorably cute face that a child will want to look after, it does score highly. The manufacturing quality is very decent- not amazing, but durable enough for everyday cuddling or a bit of chucking about by unsympathetic siblings, within reason. The stitching is fine. There’s no presentation case or box, just the toy squeezed tightly into a plastic bag, so if you’re giving it as a gift you may want to remove it from the bag and stretch it out a little bit so that it doesn’t look like it’s suffocated. Children can quite rightly be sensitive about these things!A nice quality cuddly toy, with some nice detailing in the fur and body shape, but let down just a little bit by the odd (but loveable) face.

3.5* More like a bear than a Pomeranian, but it's cute. And, tiny! Maybe it's a hybrid dog-bear?
I thought this would be fluffier and slightly bigger than it is, but it is nicely made and it is cute. However, I think that a child who's into dogs and who's been expecting a lifelike Pomeranian puppy might question why they've been given a bear. Yes, the colouring isn't that of a bear, but the face and body are.The top part of the toy is a plush toy as you'd expect - made from a soft filling. The bottom, perhaps so that the toy can be positioned to sit upright, is made from the kind of filling that bean bags have. Not quite beans, but little particles that can be spread around. It works, but you do get a toy that's part soft, part crunchy and a little noisy!I wouldn't be happy paying the current price of just under six quid for a non-branded item that doesn't quite look as described, but I think kids would like this, if they're not told what it is. And, it has a CE standards safety label, and the dog-bear is nicely made, without any parts that look likely to come off easily, including the eyes which are really well embedded.
