Great quality, built to last
Its big pot, I was like wow its huge !!! It has a thick heavy bottom and feels like its very well made. My family loves tapioca, so I made almost a gallon of it with this pot. I think this pot can make three gallons of the stuff. My tapioca came out perfect. Usually when I make tapioca I would have to constantly stir to avoid burning it. With this double boiler I stirred every so often and it still came out perfect. Its a keeper.

First pot damaged, second pot poor quality
Bought this twice ... Returned twice. The first double boiler was from the brand Thunder Group, and the quality was great. The problem though was that the package had been badly beat up and as a result the outer pot was dented. Normally I wouldn't care if it was just cosmetic damage, but the inner pot didn't sit flush with tthe outer at that point and lost a lot of steam so we returned it. The second double boiler delivered was a different brand, Winco, and when checking the Amazon listing it appeared the seller company name had changed since I bought the first pot. This double boiler came double-boxed, but the inner box was also mis-handled it appeared. Upon inspection there was once again a dent on the outer pot, but it was much smaller than the first (size of a pencil eraser) so I decided to keep it at that moment as the dent was too small to interfere with the use of the pot. Used the pot one time to pasteurize milk from my goat, and the so-called stainless steel actually reacted and corroded! FROM MILK! Back it goes.

Not the best but they are fine.
Not top of the line by any means but it will do the job. It could be thicker but it works as a double boiler for my cheese and yogurt making adventures. It will not last a lifetime but at that price I can buy three.

Make sure of the capacity you need first
The EXTERIOR pot is 12 quarts, the interior pot, which you would use for making cheese, or to use the system as its intended double boiler, barely holds 2 1/2 gallons. Also, the ridge at the top of the interior pot (which allows for the tight fit into the outer pot) makes the cutting of curd harder and a place for curd to stick. If only processing 2 gallons or less of milk, this is a non issue. Not sure why one would buy a "12 quart" pot, unless they were hoping to make large quantities, so I do wish this had been addressed. Also... it seems as if the outer pot is stainless steel, but that the interior pot may NOT be... I've had some discoloration which seems like rust. :(

Lid did come damaged but was easily fix with some needle nose pliers

Just was much cheaper material than what I thought it was going to be. Definitely not a commercial product.

Cheese maker pot
This double boiler works great for making cheese. A standard home made batch is two gallons of milk and this works perfect. Once you reach the correct temperatures it holds the temp for a long time due to the clad bottom. The stainless looks beautiful too. Appears to be very good quality material 18/8 ss with sturdy handles that don't bend when filled with 20+ pounds of liquid.

Double boiler
This is a fairly beautiful double boiler. I definitely recommend this product. The stainless steel is very heavy. Handles do not flex when lifting the pot. The clad bottom makes this double boiler fairly efficient. Even the lid is stainless steel, no plastic is used anywhere. I used this double boiler to make homemade cheese. I know I'll get many years of use from this double boiler.
