Perfect replacement for my VW
Perfect replacement for my 2011 Jetta Sportwagen!! Excellent value for 1/10 the cost of OEM. It's been working perfectly for 3 years now and was a direct replacement. For anyone who has difficulty finding the triple D internal socket that VW uses, check out harbor freight. They've got the kit that includes it for like $12 and sold as a "security bit set"

Fixed my Inoperable Rear Hatch
Simple install (Provided you have a Triple Square Bit Set. . . I did). This fixed the inoperable rear hatch on my Jetta Sportwagen. The old one would just make a terrible noise when you tried to open, but wouldn't release. It's been about 2 weeks and so far so good. The only weird issue I had is the key fob hatch button no longer seems to do anything, but the handle/button on the hatch works just fine.

The hatch on our Jetta wouldn't latch closed. This replace works fine, and it's a lot cheaper than the OEM original. Pretty easy to install. First remove the trim panel. Pop off the covers in the grab pockets adjacent to the latch. Remove the screws using a T20 Torx bit. Pop the retaining clips by pulling the panel down using the grab pockets. There is no need to completely remove the panel. All you need is access to the latch mechanism. Remove the retaining bolts using an 8mm triple square driver (https://www.amazon.com/Capri-Tools-30034-Triple-Square/dp/B00ESMZYV6/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=8mm%2Btriple%2Bsquare%2Bbit&qid=1684778301&sr=8-5&th=1) . Pull the latch out then remove the electric connector. Install the new latch by reversing these steps. Electric plug, triple square bolts, trim, screws, and screw covers. Before clipping the plastic trim panel into place, confirm that the spring metal clips are correctly installed in the panel, and not stuck in their corresponding square holes in the metal hatch door. If necessary use needle nose pliers to remove the metal clips, then slide them into place in the plastic trim. Align the ends of the spring metal clips with their corresponding holes, before clipping them back into place. Replace the T20 torx screws and screw covers. Done!

Perfect fit! Works Fine
The Hatch Latch on our '14 Jetta Sportwagen died. Dealer wanted $350 to "diagnose and replace" This part was recommended by the YouTube videographer and was a PERFECT FIT on the first try. Only issue is that VW, Audi and their ilk use a "Triple Squarer" splined bolt that requires a special driver. Torx Bits, I have Metric Bits, I have SAE Bits, I have Square Drive Bits, I have Triple Square bit set I had to buy That said for less than $50 and 20 minutes of my time, the problem was fixed.
