can a customer request a brown color band, with the stauer watch purchase ?

Unfortunately we do not offer different color bands.

How does it know how many days in the month

You set to the correct date and you are good for 31 day months. If the month ends short of the 31st you need to reset the date. Example: At the end of April after the 30th you need to reset date past the 31(which April does not have) to the 1st for May. Hope that makes sense.

Where is the watch made?

This watch is made in China. Thank you for your inquiry! -Stauer

How do you change the battery ?

If you look around the edge of the back from the side there is a little gap where you pop it off with a small jewelers screw driver or a special tool for popping the back of watches. There is also a watch press for pressing the back back on. You can buy these tools off amazon. Some times you can press the back back on with your thumb, but you need to cushion the crystal glass or you might break it.
