Star Trek Starfleet TR-590 Mark IX Science Tricorder 11 Replica

Just received today. A beautiful, detailed replica. This tricorder is now the centerpiece of my Trek collection. Well worth the $450 I spent on it. The only complaint I have is the that 2 screws on the plastic battery cover on back appears to be stripped on arrival. Cannot tighten. Not a big concern for me since I have taken the batteries back out and it will be displayed on the stand in my collection and not played with , but if it was to be used daily it would be a problem.I recommend if you are a serious collector.

My beautiful new Mark IX Tricorder arrived on time and in good order. The finish and decals were flawless. I did however have one issue. The flap cover would not stay in the closed position. Rather annoying! A quick email to Amazon resulted in a courteous response from Heroes In Action. I decided to keep the Tricorder even with the flap issue. Then it happened. The LEDs in the flap cover flickered and died! I had the unit for less than a week! Very disappointed! I returned the unit. Two thumbs up to Amazon and Heroes for their great service. As much as I loved the Mark IX; I can't recommend it due to quality issues.UPDATEShortly after I posted this review, I took a chance and purchased a second Tricorder. This one had no issues. After 2 years of VERY light use and the best of care, suddenly all of the LED lights have ceased to function!!! Only the sound system still works. There is also a strong smell of burning metal \ plastic! NOT a quality product! I have reduced the rating down to one star!

I got mine today. I'm a little disappointed with a couple places on the finish. I guess that is what you get when they are mass produced like this. The black area around the red cube EMRG button isn't completely painted, and there are a couple of pinhead-size paint blobs (not chips in the paint but like tiny raised places that might be sand-able) Pickiness aside, this thing is gorgeous and heavy. It sounds really good and looks even better. The LEDs are really bright. The stand and holster are great too.

Great Star Trek Tricorder! INCREDIBLE lights and sounds! It WOWed everyone I showed right away!

God! This thing is beautiful! A few minor paint blemishes, had been hand painted out, but none of them were consequential. The metal casing is wonderful, the lights are clean and perfect. It's like looking into a christmas tree every time you open it up!!

Great prop with a few imperfections or needed improvements. Some scratches on mine and the label buttons are merely fancy stickers, which for the price should have been paint or some other application really.

The media could not be loaded. Love, love, love it! Very cool!
