Product Description Self Shine Color Dye Kit About our Self Shine Dye Kit Heavy Pigment Dye Our dye is very rich in color, therefore this dye can even color black leather to a vibrant white! No Buffing Needed Our leather dye dries nice and shiny, so no buffing or shining required. Lasts a Long Time After you dye your leather, you will see you will have a lot leftover. You will be able to get multiple uses out of just one kit. Over 80 Colors We have over 80 vibrant colors to match just about every color you need! How to use Tarrago Color Dye Prepare the Leather Rub with a used green scrubbing fiber (e.g. Scotch Brite) or a cloth soaked in Tarrago Preparer. It will take off a little of the top layer to allow the dye to soak in. Stir & Brush Edges Stir the dye container with the application brush until the color is completely homogeneo.us. Dye edges with brush Apply Leather Dye Place one or two coats of dye on one end of the sponge. Rub gently in a circular way over the entire area, adding another coat of product if necessary. Repeat this process until the sponge is nearly dry. Without adding more dye, you can tap with the same sponge over the surface dyed to match the color, without attempting to cover transparencies. Let Dry Once finished dyeing, rinse the sponge and the brush with water to avoid them to dry out. Optimal drying time is 12 hours. About Tarrago Brand Review: Terrific product but application tools are important. - Absolutely fantastic product. Colored my dull bag perfectly. Important to thoroughly clean and use prep. I had alligator textured leather, so did multiple coats over several days. Advise buying small angled sponge at hardware store to apply color. Small sponge provided has little area coverage. Can clean overpricing after done with Q tip and the provides leather clear prep. Review: Great shoe dye - This dye worked perfectly. I was unable to find a "plum" colored pair of shoes. I had a brown leather pair that worked great. Went on easily. Little mess. Great color.

Fixing a mistake
I purchased a leather messenger bag on Ebay. While I usually have great luck and great sellers, this one really exaggerated the "barely used" aspect of the bag. It was deeply stained and looked horrible. I almost cried and then I almost threw it away. I did some research and found a purse forum recommendng this product. I sucked it up and thought I would try it. I would at least learn something new. The bag was a deep reddish-brown. I chose a cognac color, which turned out to be lighter. I received the product fairly quickly. I tend to be impatient (the type that stains a wood piece 32 times in one afternoon) so I forced myself to follow directions and go slowly. I followed directions to the letter and the end product is amazing!!!! I used the preparer to prepare the bag. It will ask you to use a used scotchbrite type pad--here I deviated, I used a new one. This step was amazing and quick. Took it down to the beautiful bare leather. Then the staining. Stir well, then pour into a little cup or plate. Go slow and follow the directions. It's a snap!! If the stain gets on your hands or metal pieces it will come off really easy, so don't fret. A little water or scrubbing will do the trick. Tips I learned from the purse site: if you are doing a bigger item, use the foam brushes you buy at a hardware department. Let the item you are staining set a couple of days before use. Also, finish up with some gentle leather conditioner a couple of days after you're done. It took me a weekend. I can't paste pictures, but if you want to see some things people have done, google Tarrago Dye and visit the purse forums. Amazing transformations. The outcome is not as shiny as the pictures look, either. For those who say it peels off: I think they might have done too many coats at once and didn't let it dry. No color transfer or peeling. It's not a paint, it is a dye. A high quality dye. I have bought black and red to fix a couple of other bags I want to keep longer. FYI: there is also a Youtube video which demonstrates the product as well. Update: it is now summer 2013 and the bags still look great! Also, I again got a misrepresented product from eBay--this time a pair of "brand new" " white" Keds shoes. They may have been white at some point, but they arrived at my door an ugly yellow-white. I used leftover red dye and they look fantastic now!! Still love this product!

More of a "varnish" versus a "stain"
I had purchased a small vintage Coach purse off Poshmark. While it had great patina, there were some dark water marks on the back and bottom of the purse that I didn't care for. After washing and conditioning the purse, the water marks didn't go away, so I decided I wanted to dye it. I selected Tarrago over Fiebing as the amount of product provided seemed to be enough for a first-time dye project. This brand also offered a wider variety of colors. I had difficult time deciding among the various browns, but selected Amber Brown. After it dried, my purse went from mahogany to a British tan. The product was easy to use. Based on Youtube reviews, I did not use the sponge or brush applicator that came with the product. Instead, I used a scrubber sponge that I cut into fourths to remove prep the leather, then used a foam brush for the dye itself, which made it easy to apply thin even coats. The dye is runny so I recommend using rubber gloves. I think I did about 3 or 4 coats in total. I used Fiebing's Resolene and Apple Garde Water Repellent spray to protect the purse. The first day I wore the purse, I noticed the buttery soft leather was rather tacky. Unfortunately, I was caught in a thunderstorm that day as well! It didn't seem to affect the purse, thankfully. Over the last month, the tackiness has worn off and the leather has returned to its supple feel. However, in this time the amber brown color has also faded (luckily, it had not cracked) revealing the original color of the purse. I'm not too disappointed by this, as it seems to retain the new color but giving a subtle bit of the original. However, for my next purse rehab, I went with Fiebing as it is a penetrating dye. I would still repurchase (I have a mint green purse that I want to makeover) but now I know the limitations of the product and will manage my expections accordingly.

Paint it, then throw it away
I really liked that sneakers so when I scratch them, I decided to repair. OK, it worked. The product came with a brush, but the quality of that brush was not acceptable. I used my own brush, the paint was nice, and 3 layers made it work. But the surface was sticky after a week. I thought maybe that’s ok? I put my sneakers on and went out. Well, that was not okay. It was raining and paint washed away. I washed dirty sneakers, and the result is on the picture

Works Perfect but you Must Follow Prepping Instructions!
Both these dyes & the self shine wax colors from this brand are amazing. This particular color “Leather Brown #57” matches Salvatore Ferragamo “CUOIO” color exactly. I touched up both a purse & some driving shoes & color was exact match. Then I also completely repainted an old pair of Gordon Rush driving shoes that my FIL loves but had seen better days. I’m attaching before & after for those because they now look new again. I’ve included before & after pics plus a side by side. I did prepare the leather as per instructions & I did around 4 thin layers. They were a little sticky at first but I brushed them thoroughly with my shoe polish brush & problem solved. FIL says they look better now than when he first got them 😬

Works great!
Excellent and easy way to change or restore the color of shoes. If applied as directed, great results that holds up well. They also carry the matching shoe cream for each color, which is a great wat to protect your work.

Quality shoe dye!
This is quality shoe dye! It covered an old pair of black booties that needed a refresh! The quality of the leather still shines nicely and I now have a new bootie with the price tag. I’m ordering in camel to refresh another pair of boots!

Vendeur impeccable!

Amazing product - my shoes were reborn
The reason why I bought this product was that I had a pair of really comfortable heels which were badly injured on a day when I was in a rush to catch my train. I couldn't simply bin them... Giving them a chance for a new life I ordered this product and honestly it did an amazing job. My beige courts turned into vivid blue color and the dye covered the injured patches really smoothly. The new color and surface is amazing with a lovely smooth shine as an addition to the cheerful color. I would recommend it to anyone without hesitation. The only advice I would add is that you need to be patient with the dying - each layer has to get dry (min. 6 hours) and I had to apply 3 layers to get the perfect cover. Furthermore, use the sponge for every parts (even for the heels and sides) as it gets wrinkled if too much dye is applied. Don't worry if the color looks a bit odd after the first layer is added, just carry on...
