Lolumina Mini Soft-Release Button-Complete Kit (Black)

While it may seem like a hipster accessory to add to a vintage-looking digital camera along with your boutique leather strap and designer bag, it really does have a use. A soft-release shutter button brings the shutter to the same height or higher than the other controls your camera may have and gives it a more connected feel; my finger connects with it easier and half-presses are easier to feel. The shutter button on my Fujifilm X-T1 seemed lost between the shutter speed and exposure compensation dials. Now it sits comfortably above them instead of depressing further into the combo shutter button/power switch around the edge. I will always put a soft release shutter button on my cameras now since I've grown accustomed to the improved feel. I've tried other shutter buttons but this one is the most solid and stays put without the adhesive weakening or becoming gooey. Highly recommended!

I am on the fence about this. I think it might be marginally better ergonomically than your standard shutter button. But, mine came unscrewed and fell off in an elevator....and someone else noticed it fall off. So, I had to put some super glue on the threads before putting it back on. I do not feel that it does anything to improve my images....at all. It's a cheap plastic button....that's it. On the downside, I have had my camera at my hip and triggered the shutter accidentally in rapid fire mode....resulting in several surprise shots of the ground when I went to edit pics.I am not saying don't buy one, just that it will not be lifechanging in any way, shape or form.

This is a great addition to any small system camera. It lifts the shutter release platform about 6mm/.25", moving the pressure from the tip of your finger (which can become tiresome after shooting all day) to the pad of your finger (a far more passive position). The process is simple and the directions are thorough. It comes with two baseplates for flat and convex shutter release buttons, which are very securely fixed to the shutter release by a high bond adhesive so it won't come off by accident. That being said, they can be removed easily at-will with dental floss. But you won't want to remove it - it may be a small addition, but it makes a big difference. Combined with the a6000 thumb rest, you'll have a far more ergonomic camera body.

Being used to the shutter release placement on a full frame Nikon, I was hunting for the release on the Fuji X-t1, but this product solves the problem. To my surprise I was able to place the glued surface on perfectly on my first try and now I don't have to hunt for the shutter anymore.I have changed my rating from 5 stars to 3 because the soft touch button unscrewed itself, dropped to the ground, and was forever lost. The instructions do not caution one to frequently check the button to make sure it has not unscrewed itself.

Worked well until it fell off and disappeared in the grass. The base with screw post is still firmly on my shutter release but the button is gone. Seems like there could be some type of self-locking thread to prevent this.

Nice idea, but I didn't like it on my Sony A6500 as it was to easy to hit and fire the camera when trying to feel for the shutter when looking through the viewfinder or at night in the dark. I didn't like the smaller raised bottom part, as the instruction stated you had to be careful about snagging it on something and possabibly damaging your shutter button. I think they should remove that part and hazard, so the main part will completely fit flat and eliminate that risk. Given the instructions stated risk factor... I don't know why anyone would want to risk damageing their camera.

I have the Lolumina Mini soft-release button on both my Sony cameras and enjoy the improved shutter performance in this low-profile design. Highly recommended!
