Don't put off getting this
Edmunds Stitchers Wonder Stand. Well made. Easy to assemble, no tools needed. Wood is smooth and bare finished, meaning it needs little or no sanding, you can use it as is or stain/paint if you like. I wanted one of these for many years so I could work with both hands instead of always using one for holding my work. After just a couple hours I got the hang of things and could stitch faster than before. There is one problem with this particular stand sold as it is: it cannot hold any other hoops or frames except the one that came with it. There are two ways around this. 1) Drill mounting holes thru any frames/hoops you already have to fit the screws on the stand's yoke. This would work fine for any scroll frames I've ever seen. 2) Get these adapter clamps, they attach in place of the frame that came with it, then you can use almost any size frame/hoop in the clamps. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IA8VX14?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_detailsWith the added clamps, this is a serious and useful piece of needlework equipment. I can sit comfortably on the couch, adjust the stand where I want it and stitch away. It holds my largest hoop (18") or my largest scroll frame (22" wide). It may hold larger frames but that's my largest. The clamps make it super easy to swap when I want to change projects. Without the clamps, you will need to undo 2 screw knobs, unthread them from the yoke, then reverse the process with the modified frame of your choice. It can be done but the clamps are an inexpensive solution to monkeying around.I've been doing needlework for 45 years. I am sorry I didn't get this sooner.

A great way to save your arms!
I bought this because holding my frames was causing muscle pain. I am in pretty good shape, but holding even a fairly light wood frame for a few hours causes muscles to stiffen up. This not only relieves that nearly completely - but really does allow for both hands to be used and for easier faster stitching. I really appreciate its ability to bend and turn the frame giving me almosts every position. I do have to take the single knob off to then flip the canvas to start and end my threads, but that is a very minor action and probably is good that it triggers me to take a break after each thread - or two.The assembly was easy, but being a tech person I overthought things and waxed the wood at the pivots thinking I was going to make it slide more smoothly when adjusted. DON'T do that. It make it slide alright - and not able to stay as set. I washed the soap off and all is fine now. Adjustments are very easy with the type of knobs given. I might prefer ball knobs for the comfort if you have you leg near the one on the vertical parts and especially on the support bars where they use butterly nuts and when I am barefoot - but still it is just something easily avoided. The quality of the wood, the cuts and smooth surfaces of the wood parts are all excellent. I have used a different 24" canvas frame with this so far so I can not review that aspect of this. I would love it if they sold a variety of sizes of the bent wood piece that holds the canvas frame so I could use this for smaller size projects and not need the large frame, but there are other products for that available.

Good frame at a great price
I needed a frame to accommodate the 40cm square size needed for a few seat cover projects so I could work faster using both hands and work longer with less fatigue to them.I didn’t want to spend a lot of money because needlework isn’t one of my usual hobbies. This frame has been a real pleasure and at this price point and usefulness for me it is FIVE stars. It’s easy to assemble (you’ll need normal hand strength to get the top of the carriage bolts to seat into the wood, and yes having a metal collar sunk in would be nice but would also increase cost), easy to use, and adjusts almost infinitely so you can work comfortably in many positions. I’ve used it sitting in an armchair and even reclining on a bed. It adjusts easily to stand out of the way when not in use and has a small footprint. The wood is smooth but unfinished. I’d like the yoke arms to be wider than the stretcher bars, because then you could flip to the back without them restricting how far, but maybe if I clamped them to the very edge next time this would be possible. My work stays nice and tight because I basted top and bottom to the bars with upholstery thread, and being able to scroll up and down has helped keep it clean and fur-free.The wobbly issue mentioned by others hasn’t been an issue for me, possibly because I’m used to resting one foot on the bottom or bracing the frame against an arm of the chair or my own.I deducted a star because the assembly instructions could be more clear —I just looked at the box picture because it was easier—and because serious needlepoint folks will want something that will probably stand up a little better to years of heavy use and not be restricted by the yoke arms and because I needed to add floor protectors to the feet and will stain it myself.I’d buy this again.

Totally worth it !
Perfect height stand for using with my chair. Makes cross stitching so much better. I’m able to use both hands since one isn’t tied up holding a hoop. It’s so adjustable! Totally worth it.

Once assembled correctly, it is wonderful!
I had to have my handy man put it together and there were no instructions for attaching the fabric to it, once assembled! We did not realize for quite some time that the stretcher bars separated to attach the fabric to stretch it and attach. Once attached though, I love it and I have bought and given away numerous other styles over the decades so trust me, I know! Happy stitching through your isolation period and don’t forget to put on some favorite music and make a pot of tea to help cheer you up as you go! Be well all!

Does not turn 360 degrees with out making modification
3/4 inch shims were installed with longer pivot bolts to allow the table to turn 360 degrees for ease of back stitching. Nice product.
