Absolutely love this
This product is great. I bought this as a gift for my younger brother because he loves Star Was even more than I do. He was thrilled about this. This has multiple uses and some work better than others. For ice this works pretty well. The detail is better than the Han Solo tray but again only having 4 small sized molds makes this sub-ideal as an ice tray. But it still is pretty darn cool. This mold is somewhat more suited toward food use. My brother and I found a recipe for gummy candy and used this mold for it. The candies turned out great. We were even able to make a 3D R2D2 gummy. That was the highlight of our day.The candy picks up the details even better than the ice and since the candy doesn't take as long to set it's much more practical. We used this and the Han Solo mold so one would set while we filled the other. It works great for chocolate as well. Being made of food grade silicone this tray can be used for a lot. Many of its uses it does very well but if you're buying it solely to use as an ice tray you may find it a bit inconvenient due to the limited number of ice cubes you are able to create given the small number of molds in the tray. But overall it is a great product.

Fun Chocolate mold; if you are very careful
I got these to make chocolate candies for the kids at a Star Wars party. The four smaller molds didn't work; the legs broke off every time I tried to carefully remove the hardened chocolate from the mold. The larger mold worked perfectly for chocolate, except twice I forgot to be careful and ended up with two R2's with a leg that broke off. So, if you use this mold to make chocolate R2s, don't forget to be careful. Having the chocolate R2s was a big hit with the kids; however, it was extremely time consuming to make 10 chocolate R2s one chocolate R2 at a time. I tried using the mold to make ice cubes, but no details came through and the legs broke off (even on the big mold). So, that was very disappointing.

Great for jell-o jigglers!
I bought 5 different Star Wars themed silicone trays to make jell-o jigglers for my son's birthday party. I did them in different colors/flavors and it looked great. The trick was to spray canola cooking spray into the trays, then wipe them out a little, then put in the jello with 1/2 the amount of recommended water. The spray did not affect the taste. As far as ice trays go, they work great--but no spray. The Darth Vader and storm troopers work the best. Han Solo in carbonite was a pleasant surprise! R2D2 looks great but is very tricky. 9 times out of 10 one of his 'legs' breaks--both in ice and jello! A fun product!!

Awesome idea, doesn't turn out well.
I am a HUGE R2 fan! My husband bought this ice-cube tray for me as a gift. I have the Storm Trooper one, which I love to use to make candy chocolates in. I wanted to do the same with the R2 one. However, I found that despite all attempts at making the candies, R2's feet break off every time. The small mold and the big mold. I tried filling it full and not so full. Even with ice cubes, they still broke off. I am still keeping the mold, I can use melted chocolate and glue the feet back on. But I was a little disappointed.

R2D2 Tray
I love this tray! this tray works well and has alot of detail. It is half the size of regular ice trays, so I got another. This tray is made of silicone and works well in the freezer. It also washes very well in the dishwasher. Ice is easy to get out of the tray. Let it sit outside of the freezer for a few minutes, then press each R2D2 cube out one at a time. I also make R2D2 butter in this tray. Use real butter only, let it sit on the counter until soft. Do not melt the butter. Press in R2D2 tray, scrape off extra. Freeze for several hours. Then let the tray sit on counter for a few minutes. Press R2D2 butter out of the tray. The picture shows the front and back of the tray. The tray is open like most trays and does not have a lid for the top of the tray. Which is not needed. You can use this tray for many things, it works very well.

Great Gift
I purchased this tray, and a few others, for a family member for a Christmas gift. They told me recently how much they love it. They make all sorts of goodies in it from ice, to chocolate, to jell-o for their little one. It seems to be incredibly durable from how they talk about it and it seems it's going to be used quite a bit in the future.

Very fun
These molds are great fun and look especially handsome in whiskey. For some reason, they seem to melt quicker than normal ice cubes but they are totally worth the short lived coolness. The largest of the molds is my favorite.
