Can you use staples to fix paper on it? I am looking for a board on which I can stretch watercolor paper. Thanks

I am actually looking for the same purpose as you, as/ board to stretch watercolor on. Wondering if you tried it or found the proper board? I was told by an instructor that is was water resistant and gray in color. It had previously been purchased at Home Depot in large sheets…The name Homasote was used.

Would this work as a backer for mosaic?

I don't know for sure, as I don't do mosaic, but the homasote board is not resistant to water, so would not be good in an outdoor location. It's possible it could be used indoors, however.

For the $59 price does this come with anything else? I ask because same board on Delphiglass website is $17.
