An acceptable alternative in my sealed ceiling fixture
Bright and warm (more yellowish than blue). Light is more like an incandescent than I expected. I knocked off a star because LED lamps still suffer from the half-a-lamp problem, which leaves a darker area in fixtures where the lamps are mounted parallel to the ceiling. Slight delay in turn on. Flicker is not easy to see like some LED lamps.(Haven't had it installed long enough to comment on durability or tolerance for voltage irregularities.)Now, if they could only get the cost down.

Great LED Bulb! Incandescent Color! Works In Enclosed Light Fixture!
I bought these 2700k 100w equivalent LED bulbs with two specific requirements (a) Needs to work inside a fully enclosed fixture without overheating and (b) Needs to look like an incandescent bulb with a true 2700k color. These bulbs have met both of these requirements exceptionally well. Even though the bulbs are very expensive, there are not many choices when it comes to LED bulbs that will work in fully enclosed fixtures. Buy it and you will not regret it! Highly recommended!

A question
I have tried this bulb in two open interior fixtures and in both it sounds as if there is a fan running inside it. The sound is annoying so I do not yet use the bulb. Is this sound normal? Is this okay? It is also very expensive.

Best in vertical orientation. Puts out a lot of light if vertical.
Heavy and pricey but puts out decent light. An LED bulb that puts out nearly 1600 lumens is nice, but it emits more light from the top than the sides. So it works best in a vertical position (either hanging straight down from the ceiling or straigh up in a table lamp). Light fixtures where the bulb is oriented horizontal (parallel to the ceiling like so many 2-bulb ceiling fixtures) will be quite a bit dimmer. Also: operating at 2700 K can make things take on a buttery yellow hue, so buyer beware.

Awesome light with warranty
Awesome light.. expensive but worth the money and it has a 3 (three) year warranty!!!

so far so good. Working well in below freezing temps
Installed in a outside light on a automatic timer, so far so good. Working well in below freezing temps. I will probably buy two more for the other lights on my shop.
