Nicer than I imagined!
Switched from cartridge shaving to DB and SB a couple of months ago. I have shopped and tried several razors, but have been unsure about using a straight razor. Saw a video on the Japanese style and popped for this one to try. Very impressed. I ordered it on the 4th of June and received it yesterday the 6th. It has a good heft and feel. Not wanting to rush the process I waited until after today's shower to use the razor. It was simple to load. The cover does not slide in from the end. You drop it in about halfway in to allow pins on the cover to align with holes in the handle. From there it easily slides and clicks into place. I wear glasses and found it awkward to shave downward from my sideburns as my hand hit my glasses. One is supposed to shave the left side of your face with the left hand and the right side with the right hand. I will get used to it. I was looking forward to the shave and expected several nicks and cuts as part of the learning process. I was not disappointed (LOL). I enjoyed the process and did incur some cuts, much like paper cuts. An alum block managed them just fine. (I had received much worse cuts from a DE safety razor.) Time was against me today and I made two nice passes but did a third, cleanup pass, with a more familiar razor for times sake. Can't rush things when you are learning! My beard growth was a hearty four day crop and the Facon razor took care of it very easily, leaving me BBS for the most part. (As noted, I did not want to rush myself, so touch up was done with a familiar SE razor.) BTW, both razors will take the same 1/2 DE blade. I'm not sure a snapped DE will fit if the break is uneven as it "locates" on three bumps, but also rests on a ledge (dictates blade reveal) for it's length (an uneven break of a DE blade might not seat well.) I had installed the blade three times, before shaving, to become familiar with the process and after shaving, to facilitate cleaning, and found it straight forward. But just now I walked through it again and was fumble fingered. Performance under pressure? The price point is excellent. If the razor is opened, rinsed clean and dried after each shave, it should last for a long time. (Just common sense maintenance and hygiene.) When you register your razor it triggers the one year warranty. Write a review(*) on Amazon and get 100 extra blades for free (don't know if that includes S&T.). (*I have not gotten them yet and I have made no promise of a flowery positive endorsement. Just the facts, (and my impressions) Ma'am. It needs a handy way to store it other than the plastic sleeve it came with.. Looking forward to my second shave with the Facon and the honing of my skills. Though I don' t have to hone the blade! Just pop in a new one when it gets dull.

Wonderful Razor!
I love this razor. It feels weighted in the hand just right and is very comfortable to hold and to work with. I found the blades to be very sharp and precise. I changed it after only a couple of shaves, because I like for the blade to slice through my beard and mustache hairs like a warm knife through butter, and after it begins to feel like it is cutting more because of manpower instead of due to the sharpness of the blade then I go ahead and swap out the blade for a new one. Inserting and removing the blade is a breeze and can be done in a couple of seconds and on you go with your life. It is the perfect size for what I needed it to do, which is to trim and shape my mustache and beard. It is easy to hold to use in both my dominant and non-dominant hands and in some of the reviews I have read complaints about the sharpness of the blades, I personally had no such complaints and the blades to are very sharp, durability might be a factor if one is used to using the same blade for more than just a few shaves, but as I said, I like my blades, nice and sharp when Iโm shaving. Depending upon what your needs are, I think you will be very happy with this item and I look forward to using it for a long time with confidence.

No regrets, best shave and razor I've ever owned.
A couple of years ago I switched to DE safety razor to save money, and bought an adjustable safety razor to use, so I could bet a more aggressive cut. I had no complaints. Then I decided to try a shavette razor and ordered the Falcon classic straight edge barber razor. The folding style. It was a steep learning curve, but only using 1/2 of a double edge blade, was very economical. I never mastered the folding straight razor though. Could never get used to swapping hands and always had trouble keeping the folding handle out of my own way, so I took a chance on this Japanese-style razor with 100 blades, and... I wish I had bought this to start with! The spring loaded blade holding mechanism is much better on the Japanese style than the folding barber style and easier to get the blade evenly exposed. Much easier to keep the blade clean during shaving, hardly any buildup gets caked up inside the mechanism, and what gets on the razor easily rises off the black finish. Feels good in the hand. Good grip. No floppy handle to get in the way. Where as before, I had to go nice and slow, I can absolutely fly with this Japanese style and get three passes done in no time. I see the Feather brand advertised, and have never used one myself, but for the $100 price difference I don't see how the feather could be much, or any better than this Facon unless it does the shaving for you. Highly recommend!

Time to line them up
Razors by themselves are OK thatโs why you get so many expect to use them at least four times before having to change which is a great great deal although the mechanism is a bit complex but you get used to it. The only thing itโs a little heavy could be lighter and thatโs why I gave it. A four stars overall can beat the price. Thank you, Amazon.

First time and no blood shed
Depending upon time constraints I normally use a DB safety razor and when in a big hurry, a higher end cartridge razor. After 50+ years of shaving I finally chose to try a SB straight razor. I chose Facon after researching and review ratings. With some trepidation I tried it out this morning. The Japanese style makes balancing and angling fairly easy with either hand. Nice beard line, easy to use on cheeks and upper chin. Nice heft to the razor. Not a single nick or cut first time out. Iโm sure they will come as I still occasionally nick myself on my safety razor when I hurry. But this was the closest shave Iโve ever given myself. Looking forward to more practice. I also used the Facon gel first time out since it made it easier to see what I was doing. Good stuff. Nice easy glide.

Excellent value, well made and a smooth shave.
Had my first shave with the Kamasuri today and really enjoyed it. Because it was my first time using this razor I used a Shark blade rather than my usual Perma-sharp. For me this type of shavette was easier to hold and to use as opposed to the ones that swing open. The quality of this razor is great and it was easy to load. I'll be using this razor exclusively for the month of October and will be updating this review if needed but so far so good. Get this razor even if you're just wanting to do cleanup work or beard shaping.

Great for home use, perhaps not professionally
I love the weight- but as a professional itโs not the best finish- I leave my razors in barbicide between clients (even though every client gets a new razor it looks more sanitary) the barbicide submersion has removed the finish of the product and has made maintaining grip of the blade difficult.

Me encanta
Creo que me cae a durar 2 aรฑos. Llegรณ antes de lo prometido. La recomiendo al 100%

quality product but much easier to cut yourself compared to other straight razors
I've been shaving with a cheap straight razor for the last 5 years or so. I only cut myself a few times when I was learning. for some reason when i use this razor I cut myself at least once every time unless I'm very very careful. there is absolutely no room for error. I believe it's because the razor sticks out quite far even when its seated as far into the handle as possible. this actually makes it a little easier to get around the nostrils and upper lip area, but if you shave a flat surface like the back of your neck or the side of your face its much easier to cut yourself. its a shame because everything else about this razor handle is great.

Love my Facon!
I started wet shaving with the Facon folding. Learned, bled, and trained daily. Saw a YouTube video of the Facon Japanese style! Had to have it! Wow! Love it! Still โcorkโ the blades. Much smoother.
