Premium Omega-3 Fish Oil for Dogs and Cats, Liquid, 16 Fl. Oz.

Our 1.5 year old black lab, Abby, had terrible dry skin. It was so bad, her coat looked like it was constantly covered with snow. Labs are a breed known for skin issues. I volunteer at our local SPCA, and they pop open fish oil caps in dog food to promote healthy skin in their shelter pets. I tried popping two fish oil capsules in Abby's food... what a mess! We were excited to try TerraMax Pro. The bottle comes with different size caps and a pump that dispenses a .5 tsp dose per pump. We give Abby two doses per meal. Within two weeks we noticed a dramatic improvement in Abby's flakey skin. One month later all signs of dry skin are gone. Her beautiful black coat is glossy and healthy. Best of all, she LOVES it. On her most active days, Abby gets an extra scant cup of food mid-day. If there is no fish oil in it, she uses her big brown eyes and floppy ears to protest and beg for her oil. Some important notes: Dose properly for your pet's weight. Too much fish oil, too soon, will affect their digestion and they will get diarrhea. I really can't say enough about the neatness and convenience of the pump. You do NOT want to mess (pun intended) around with fish oil capsules and a pin. Trust me. The pump, and the fact that this product is human food grade, was the deciding factor in my purchase. I wanted something equal in quality to the fish oil capsules that we buy in drug stores. But, I really wanted a better delivery than capsules. TerraMax wasn't the cheapest option, but it is an EXCELLENT product at a great and fair price. I don't recall exactly what I paid for our first bottle, but I think Amazon had a small % off of regular price that made my decision even easier. Best of all... Thank you to the company president at TerraMax for the emails (probably automatic, form letter type, but still!) checking up on how our pet was taking to the fish oil, and offering the assistance of his employees with any pet questions. That's a nice touch and GREAT customer service. For the rest of Abby's life, any other furbaby that comes along, we will give TerraMax Pro fish oil. A while back one of our two dogs started getting real dry skin and itching non-stop. We hasn't changed his food and his sister didn't seem to get the dry skin so not sure why it just suddenly started. Someone suggested fish oil to help with the scratching so we bought a big bottle at Costco. The only issue was the fish oil pills are huge and they would absolutely not eat them and they're way too big to put in cheese or something. We decided to keep a small thumb track near their food and pills and would puncture each pill and squeeze the oil over their kibble. This of course worked but it was a bit of a waste because you can't squeeze every drop out of each pill. It was also highly annoying having to do this twice a day for two dogs. We kept it up though because the dry skin disappeared and the scratching stopped all together. They actually loved the taste of the fish oil and started licking their bowls clean after every meal. The effects of the oil on their coats had made a massive difference too! Their fur has a slight shimmer to it now and it really does shine in the light. You can feel the difference in the fur as well as it has made their fur soft and smooth. There were so many benefits to the oil but doing the pills had to end. Enter an Amazon search and me feeling dumb for not doing this sooner! Of course fish oil comes in a pump version, it only makes sense! This pump version of fish oil is fabulous. The price is right, the company sent a nice email with a discount coupon for the next order, and the dogs love it! All the benefits of healthy fish oil and none of the pain of the pills! We have since put this product on a once a month auto delivery from Amazon so we don't even have to worry about running out. We've found that a bottle lasts a bit more than a month but not exactly two months. Can't recommend this highly enough!!!!

I had been supplementing my dog's diet with Omega 3- and 6 - rich oils since I adopted him several years ago. He was suffering from allergies and his holistic vet recommended the oils. The last couple of years his seasonal allergy has worsened and his current vet prescribed a fish oil blend. I purchased the brand he recommended, but when it ran out I found the TerraMax Pro here on Amazon for considerably less. I've been feeding this to my boy for a month now and am very pleased with the product. There is virtually no fish odor with this oil; and, the bottle comes with both a squeeze top and a pump, so you have the choice of how to dispense it. The squeeze top dispenses cleanly, with no mess. We've had a very dry, cold winter here in the Northeast (including dryness from the indoor heat) and his skin has not been itchy or flaky. His fur has always been soft, but since he's been on the fish blend it could rival an Angora rabbit's. At nearly 12 years old, this little guy can still walk 3+ miles at a time daily and shows no signs of joint problems. I've seen some improvement over the years regarding his fall allergies, but I use other treatments as well, so I can't truly determine how much impact the fish oil has had. Overall, I do believe that fish oil has had a very positive effect on my dog's health. My guy loves the taste of the TerraMax Omega-3 Fish Oil - he licks up every little drop from the rim of his dish - and I will happily continue to feed it to him. TerraMax is a small company looking to establish itself with a solid reputation. I received a couple of emails from the company inquiring about the shipping process and my experience with the product. Thus, they take customer service very seriously. I feel this is a very good quality product put out by a good company and I am happy to recommend it to other pet owners.

I have been using the TerraMax Pro fish oil for just shy of a month now, so admittedly it is still a little too early to make a definitive evaluation of the product's effectiveness yet; but since I keep getting e-mails from the manufacturer requesting a product review, what the heck. Be careful what you wish for! I have two dogs, a 13 year old terrier mix and a 12 year old Pom mix. The terrier mix has arthritis and is taking Meloxicam (Rx required) on an "as needed" basis for pain relief. The other has had skin rashes, alergic reactions, and other flare-ups through most of his life. He uses Resortin ointment for treatment (Rx required). Since using the TerraMax Pro fish oil, I cannot say that I've noticed any improvement to either of my dogs' health. The arthritic one still limps when he walks and often times won't put any weight on one of his front paws. The one with skin problems still has problems, though I'll concede that they seemed to heal quicker this time after the Resortin was applied. He also has abnormally dry fur on his lower back. Neither one has a sleek or shiny coat. Of course, just because I can't see anything visually apparent doesn't mean the fish oil isn't helping. Our vet told us to add fish oil to their diet, so I trust there's a good reason for it; and, just to be perfectly honest, both dogs were using an Omega 3-6-9 supplement prior to the TerraMax product, so it's not like we just started adding fish oil to their diet. I bought this TerraMax product as an improvement to an already in-progress regimen, and in that regard I'm satisfied. Further, both dogs are on joint supplements as well, again as recommended by our vet, so it's not just the fish oil that isn't producing noticeable results. I can also wholeheartedly testify that the dogs actually like the taste of this. I don't think they liked the previous stuff I was using. Both of them are between 17-20lbs (17 & 19, respectively), and the directions say to give 1/2 tsp for every 25lbs of body weight, so they each get one pump on their dinner at night (the Q&A section of the Amazon product page says 1 pump = 1/2 tsp). It's _very_ easy to dispense; the previous stuff I was giving them came in capsules and I had to poke holes in them and squeeze out the oil. This is so much simpler. This is a 16oz bottle... it's huge (compared to what I was expecting). 16oz = 96 tsp, so this is roughly a 3-month supply for my two dogs. I store it in the refrigerator, which I'm not too keen about (who wants to eat a cold dinner?), but the dogs really don't seem to mind at all. To be fair, the directions say to "store at room temperature or refrigerate," so it doesn't really _need_ to be stored in the 'frig, it's just more convenient to do so due to the bottle size. So even though I don't see any noticeable results and am a bit skeptical, I'll continue to keep following the vet's recommendations. The last thing I want is to stop using the items and then have things get worse than they already are for my boys! And if I'm going to give them fish oil, I might as well give them the highest quality available, which is what the TerraMax Pro "sounds" like according to the description (though I have no way to actually verify it). The dogs like it and it's simple to administer--and even though I don't see noticeable improvements, I also don't see any adverse effects from it either (my wife suspects that the previous Omega supplement led to vomiting & diarrhea)--so those are good enough reasons for me to keep using it.

This has been a wonderful addition for us for our dog. We have a pitbull / boxer mix who has skin allergies. He is sensitive to a lot of crap they put into dog foods, and grass, and who knows what. His skin ends up getting dry and itchy. This has been very helpful. We add a few squirts to his food every night. He absolutely loves this stuff. We can even give him his little benadryl with just a drop of this stuff on there and he will eat it right up (when he normally pulls them out of what we try to give them to him in. The especially nice thing about this bottle is that you get quite a bit for a good price. It seems to have given us the same benefit as some of the more expensive brands, but you tend to get a little more bang for your buck with this big bottle. And, it's nice because we've been using it for about 2 months now and still have quite a bit left. This stuff works really well to keep dogs' coats shiny and looking great. This keeps his skin from getting super dry and flaky as well. Since we've been using fish oil, we saw a big decrease in the dandruff and itching he was having every day and night. We were using a different brand before, but this is giving us the same results for a much better price. It's great quality for sure! Pros: Does a great job at keeping skin and coat healthy, easy to use and squirt into food, dog loves the taste Cons: We haven't found a con yet after having this for a month or so I would highly recommend this product for anyone who's pup needs help with their coat or skin.

I use this on regular dog kibble (but cats love it too!) in a small bowl by my back door. Every time the dogs go out they get 3 of these "treats". They are so excited. Sometimes early in the morning my Chihuahua doesn't want them so they might upset his stomach. I don't know if its the kibble or the fish oil. I have been using this now for several years after my Pom started loosing his fur. (He has Alopecia X it turned out. Use 1 Melatonin every day & somehow it works to help them grow their hair back! The vet told me to try this. Warning: if you stop using it the fur starts to fall out again so you have to give them one every day for life, but they are cheap. I use the orange flavored ones for myself at night & my dog in the morning. No, it doesn't make him even remotely drowsy.) Anyhow, his hair grew in poorly, like straw. So I started giving him fish oil on his kibble as treats. Over time the hair growing in with the fish oil was super soft & on my Chihuahua its like silk. So much so I buy fish oil capsules for myself now...I highly recommend this product. Imagine how its also helping internal organs. This company even sends 3 different lids. I'm trying the squirter right now. I think I like it best & no other liquid fish oil products have it.

I'm going to just copy the email that I ended up sending the company here: I just want to report back that my allergy/yeast afflicted Westie has gone through an amazing transformation over the past several weeks using your fish oil. I have also been using a natural balm on her skin, medicated baths as well as feeding her a very high quality raw food, but the addition of the fish oil has triggered hair re-growth everywhere that hadn't happened until I started using your product. All of her bare skin now has re-growth and she is well on her way to a full coat of fur again. I think it's really important for dog owners suffering with severe allergies and yeast problems to know that the issues can be fixed without dangerous steroids or allergy drugs, all of which just really suppress the underlying issues and not solve them. My dog actually had a flare up late last week. I'm not sure whether she inadvertently ate something that she shouldn't have or if it was something environmental, but the important thing is that she got over it within 4 days. Previously, this was something that I couldn't control for months at a time, even with medicated baths, sprays, balms, etc. I have no doubt that the Omega 3 Fish Oil, coupled with other treatments, has given her the opportunity to get over these issues with a stronger immune response. Thanks for a great product!

Update: verdict is still out on whether or not this is helping my pup's dry, itchy skin in the long run. However, he does seem to enjoy his food much more when I add this on top, so I upped my rating. Have been contacted by the company regarding my missing pump (which caused me to waste 50% of the product trying to dump it into a separate pump bottle I purchased separately. Will update accordingly depending on what their response is to fixing the situation. My main gripe with this product is the 32oz. option (more expensive than the pictured 16oz., for the record) does not come with a pump. I'm using this to hopefully easy the itchiness/dryness of my dog's skin and make his food taste a smidge better - was recommended to do this by my vet. Neither of these seem to be working over the last month plus, so I seem to be adding this to his food every day for no reason. Additionally, lost about half of the oil the first week or two due to leakage by attempting to pour from the bottle into a measuring spoon (since I was expecting the bottle to come with a pump like the picture, this was especially annoying and having to use the measuring spoon was an added step). I didn't lose so much oil because I missed the spoon...the bottle just drips like crazy. Purchased a separate $5 empty plastic pump bottle to solve that issue...but the stuff doesn't seem to do anything for my dog's itchy skin. At least for me, this was a complete waste of money and I will definitely not be purchasing this brand again. Not sure if it's the brand or maybe something my dog doesn't need, but trying something different next, and learned from this experience to purchase the smaller option first.
