This is the ideal trash and recycling solution for a small household. It holds about 1–2 days’ worth of waste for my family, which is just right. The lid opens and closes smoothly, and it does an excellent job containing odors—there’s no smell unless the lid is open. It comes with two 8-gallon bins inside, plus a starter pack of 20 8-gallon bags, which was a nice bonus. The bins are easy to lift out when it’s time to change the liners. I especially appreciate the clever little hole inside that lets you tuck in excess bag material—perfect if you’re using slightly larger liners. Just twist and tuck, and the bag stays securely in place. The only downside was that it arrived with a small dent on one side, despite being well-packaged. Thankfully, it’s on the side facing the wall, so it’s not a dealbreaker for me. Overall, this trash/recycle can is sleek, functional, and thoughtfully designed. Highly recommend!

I changed my review from 3 to 5 stars because the replacement was in perfect condition and works great. (1st review: Ours arrived with a big dent on one side both corners. Like something heavy was on it. We will replace and hope for the best. If it arrives dented again, I think we will move on. But if it wasn't dented, looks real nice.)

This trashcan, recycling duo is awesome. I love how big the trashcan part of it is, it holds so much. I purchase size 13 gallon trash bags for the trash and just leave the recycling bin as is. The trashcan appearance is very sleek and matches the kitchen well. It’s nice to have the step to open the can instead of opening it with dirty hands. I have been using this for 5 months now and is holding up well.

This is absolutely the exact same can that is sold as the Rubbermaid Dual Stream Step-on. I know, because I replaced that Rubbermaid model with this one after the lid broke. So, I can tell you that the can is mostly good - the trash side bin is big enough, and the recycling side is acceptable, but could be better. The downside is going to be the same issue that plagues the Rubbermaid (as it's clearly the same model): the lid will eventually snap and break. There is a LOT of stress put on the plastic around the screw holes that hold the lid on. Over time, that plastic weakens and it snaps. It took nearly 3 years for the Rubbermaid to break, so I'm hoping this one lasts at least that long. I limped it along an extra month by JB Welding the cracked portions and reinforcing it with an old credit card, but it eventually failed again, necessitating it's replacement. I picked the "EKO" brand because it was half the price, and I thought from the pictures that it looked remarkably similar. That hunch was correct. You can even compare the plastic extruding marks between the two and they are the same. The Rubbermaid doesn't have the spot for the charcoal filter, but you can see in the plastic an outline where that part can be molded into the lid. The bins are the same, just different colors. Same holes in the bins to hold the bags, same metal handle on the recycling side. So, if you want the RM one, you might as well just buy this one and save the money.

We love this! It closes firmly to block any odors from escaping, it easily fits bags for both garbage and recycle items (accommodating bags of a range of sizes for each!), and each compartment's bagful fills up at a carry-able size for those like us with a few years behind us (not too big, not too small... just right! :-) Solid, durable, attractive, a great performer in the kitchen. Thoughtfully conceived and designed.

Loooove this multipurpose trash can. I appreciate that a I can throw away regular trash and recycle in the same bin. It scratches easily so try not to place anything on the top lid.

Never thought I’d ever do a review on trash cans, but here I am; adulting in some way to help others with their adulting decisions, decisions. So lets begin……. I didn’t think this was going to be a good trash can as far as quality. Obviously, I’m a poor decision maker when it comes to buying trash cans/bins in the past. It did arrive with a small dent on one of the back corners, but tis just a flesh wound and it wasn’t going to show in the area I was putting it in so it’s not big deal. And besides we all have flesh wounds hiding in a corner so nothing is ever perfect, perfect. To be honest though this was the only reason it got a four star instead of a five, but it is definitely a five star product. Keep going you’ll understand in a minute…As far as everything else, it’s has exceeded my great expectations! The lid is seamless and sturdy. Heavy enough to keep pets and pests out. There’s a lock tab if you want to keep it open and it closes sooo quietly! No more loud @ss thumper. Poor thumper is in the laundry now. The foot peddle works great, but do take it easy because it will fling open the lid with some force. Sooo unless you’re trying to get a spider off the lid or just want to watch it bounce a little (some people are easily amused with such) I’d calm that lead foot mode down a bit. The bins inside are a great quality as well! The plastic is far from the cheaply made trash bins you’re use to. Though I don’t understand why one (the recycling side) has a bucket handle and the other one doesn’t, but it’s all good. They both come out easily. Oh, and did I mention it has a compartment on the lid for a deodorizer filter or small fragrance sachets. Say goodbye to the nasty stench in your kitchen! Always a plus in my book. Anywho, I bought this model because I needed something tall, semi dark and handsome to condense the bulky odd trash cans in my space. Wow, I sound like a trash can hoe, but look, I’m looking for something more stable now. Hahaha. I need one trash can for all my regular trash needs and to recycle the never ending soda pop cans that my honey drinks. I’m not kidding, they’re never ending. So this is the one! The perfect one for all my disposable needs and possibly yours too! Of course, I do highly recommend this sexy multitasker if you’re looking for the same qualities in a trash can as I was. Good looking, yet quiet, doesn’t take up too much space, independent, but smartly functional, stable, and fulfills all your needs. Yes, you can have all in one trash can!!!
