FEL-PRO VS 50542 R Engine Valve Cover Gasket Set for Toyota Corolla

Good quality gasket, fits perfectly and works as intended. I cleaned all the old oil leaks off the cylinder head and surrounding areas right before replacing this gasket to be sure it was 100% fixed, so I can say it definitely stopped the oil seeping from my 2000 Corolla’s valve cover . This is like a 20 minute job if you have basic automotive repair skills such as changing spark plugs or brake pads, so don’t be afraid to DIY it. I’ve always had good luck with Fel-Pro gaskets, especially valve cover gaskets. As a professional mechanic and automotive enthusiast I’ve found that there are very few automotive applications where Fel-Pro gaskets aren’t the best choice available. I wouldn’t buy any other brand of gasket unless you want to spend extra buying OEM from the dealer.

Perfect fit for my 2006 Toyota Matrix. Stopped oil leaks immediately, just regret did not notice that before smoke started coming out from exhaust manifold where oil dropped. Still keeps engine clean several months after.

Correct product, it fit my 2000 Corolla. Installed with a little 3M weatherstrip adhesive on the valve cover side, let it dry for an hour, and it went on without any leaks or issues. Be sure to also use the bolt grommets that are included.

Fit perfectly on a 2006 Corolla SE. If you are a DYI it's an easy job, look at a couple of videos first. Original gasket lasted 213K miles..

Changed my plugs at around 230,000 on my 2007 Toyota Corolla because the car was running rough going up hills. When I took my plugs out I found there was oil around three of the plugs. I could see where the oil had been leaking past the valve cover gasket and knew I would have to replace the valve cover gasket soon. Will the car began to run rough again going up hills and I knew it was not my new plugs but thought it might be due to the oil once again leaking around the spark plugs. I purchased the new valve cover gasket at a good price and when I took it out of the box the color was blue as another reviewer had said. I liked the blue color as it made it easy to see the gasket when I put the valve cover back on. The quality of the gasket appears to be very good. It fit onto the valve cover exactly and was snug enough so as not to fall out when the valve cover was turned upside down. Now only time will tell if the material the new gasket is made from will withstand the engine heat. The old gasket I removed had become very and brittle.

quality gasket. I had a bit of trouble keeping the whole gasket flush in the valve cover. while trying to make it fit, it snapped. I'm not a mechanic by any means so it's likely user error.

Finally got around to putting this on my car. Fit my vibe with a 1zzfe. Old one was brittle and leaking bad. This one fit perfectly, easy to install. If you’re a DIYer or looking to save some money this is a simple install. Plenty of YT videos out there. Car has 250k miles on it so it was time. Make sure your RTV where the timing cover meets the head.

When I was checking for the appropriate gasket, my nephew advised to stick with Felpro as his experience with the cheaper gaskets fall apart well before they should. The Felpro main gasket is made in USA, although the 2 included cover bolt grommets are made in China. (This info is stamped on the packaging). Anyways, perfect fit after clean up. Don't forget to put a dab of gasket maker at both of the sides of the timing chain cover. I'm changing this at 285K, although definitely I know the gaskets been leaking since at least 225k.

Item arrived about a week early than indicated at check out. After some research, Fel-Pro was recommended as a quality replacement gasket. Actual gasket was blue, not black and made of silicone which is considered better. Fit perfect in a 2001 Corolla.
