AFI, Richmond Slatted Queen Solid Wood Headboard, Espresso

Bought this second hand solid wood headboard for my guest room queen bed. I am very happy with this product from Atlantic Furniture.,

All the holes lined up perfectly! It was easy to build and attach. It probably took about an hour for assembly and installation. This headboard looks great and is nice and sturdy.

So it SHOULD have been an easy assembly, but the manufacturers made the holes for the Barrel nut too deep. So when you put them in to then screw the pieces together since the hole is too deep and doesn't line up with the screw. And I'm sure that you know that you can't pull screws or nuts of a hole once it is deep inside. So to take them out you have to turn the thing upside down. Yes the entire headboard....SO! In order to assemble this headboard you need to hold the ENTIRE headboard above your head with the holes facing down while using a screwdriver from the bottom (to keep the barrel nut facing the right way inside the hole) attempting to push it JUST far enough in... while at the SAME time attempt to insert the screw from the side to align with the hole and IF you push the Barrel nut too far in it gets stuck and won't come out so you need to bang the headboard from the top (you are still holding it above you) to get the barrel nut out and then you start again! Yeah.... so that is just stupid. What should be just "Insert and screw together" becomes a 2 person 30 min job of trying to finesse screws at an odd angle while holding up a headboard.On that note. I will NEVER buy from these people again it is not worth it. I'd rather pay 10 dollars more on something else and not have to spend the headache that this was to put together. Don't bother with this manufacturer.

This is the second headboard I have ordered from Atlantic Furniture through Amazon. The first one was great and assembled easily. This current headboard had two manufacturing defects which made it impossible to attach the siderails. I contacted the company (they instruct customers to contact Atlantic first) for a replacement part, then spent considerable time providing them with all the information, photos, etc. they requested. At that point they suddenly stated they couldn't find the original order and couldn't help me. Very disappointing customer service. I cannot recommend this company. (Later, Amazon alllowed a return and issued a credit.)

Loved the queen headboard and color - espresso. The headboard did not match perfectly to our metal bedframe. It lined up perfectly with one leg but the other leg was off by roughly 2 inches. Had to go to the hardware store and buy a "L" shaped connector to connect, a $2.00 purchase. We ended up drilling two holes in the metal bedframe legs to the connector "L" and utilized the holes in the bedframe. Looks great, really sturdy, and secure to frame. Didn't expect the USB port. That was easy to connect to the bed. That's the reason for 4-stars.

I like this sturdy headboard. It’s clean lines are just what I was looking for. I took a star off, because there was a spot that was nicked and is missing paint. Should have to look at it very carefully to find it, and it really doesn’t impede the functionality in the overall appearance.

Headboard arrived. Unfortunately all of the hardware is missing. When we called the company, Atlantic Furniture, we were told that they won't be able to get back to us for 7-10 business days. We like the look of the headboard, but without the hardware it is useless so we may have to send it back. 7-10 days just to talk to us about the situation seems like a long time to wait.
