Most enjoyable read, interesting book, from the best era of motor racing

Derek Bell is one of the survivors from 1960's motorsport, who made a real name for himself in Endurance Racing for over a twenty years driving primarily for Porsche but also other top teams from the late 1960's through to the 1990's. A multiple winner at Le Mans and Daytona this book takes you through the details of his life racing around the world from his early years leading up to F1 and then in to Endurance Racing and other branches of the sport.It shows the vast difference in Motorsport in his early career and how motorsport has progressed through the years.Interesting and well presented with some excellent photographs as well.

Great read from one of my favourite racing drivers and one of Britain's most successful racing drivers of all time. Fabulous.

This book updates Derek's previous biography and contains many photos both on and off the track.There are chapters on Le Mans Porsche and life in America.

Fully updated from a previous biography, lots of great photographs, fascinating insight into a racing legend.

I am only half way through this book but I am enjoying it immensely. He really was one of the greats - talented but not a big head.

This is a wonderful book,Derek Bell is one of the best Drivers to ever compete in Auto Racing and this is his autobiography and a fine one it is.This is just a beautiful book packed with great photos and a great nerritive.Bell competed in Formula 1,GT And Prototypes.He was one of the best endurance Drivers there was and this great book discribes it all and the photos are worth the price of the book alone.This book is in it's second printing and has been updated it covers Bells career from his entry into F-1 to his last endurance races,his remarkable carrier coverd the golden age of GT and Prototype racing to the present.I highly recommend this book to all who love auto racing it is a gem.-FS

Sehr informatives Buch, etwas trocken geschrieben, sehr wenige persönliche Eindrücke werden geschildert. Ich hatte mir etwas mehr von dem Buch versprochen. Dennoch ist es lesenswert.

Finally a superb autobiography by Derek Bell, one of the true heroes of international sports car racing in the glory days of motorsport. The book is wonderfully illustrated with a text that shows the best racers had far less to do with luck than preparation, attitude and skill. Bell amazingly survived forty some years of professional racing with only a slight burn under his left eye.

This updated book on a legend of racing should not be missed.Includes lots of photos that span his epic career(it's almost a photo autobiography).I've had the pleasure to meet Mr. Bell a few times,truly a pleasant and gracious man and this book does justice to him and his racing life.
