I don't like plastic inside on the lid! it could be made purely of stainless steel! why did someone answer that the kettle has no plastic inside?

You are correct. As you know, water boils and turns into steam. All of the steam will not escape the closed system, and much of it will contact the lid before recirculating into the reservoir. Also, the lid is in contact with the cooler air of the surrounding room, some of the steam will condense on the plastic. The condensation will drip back into the main water supply. Therefore, water that has contacted the plastic lid will be present in the water delivered to your cup, whether it splashes on it in liquid form or not. There are kettles available on Amazon that claim to have no plastic inside whatsoever. You may want to consider purchasing one of those like I currently am.

The kettle will start heating if you do not close or open the lid (for example, to add water), however, it will not turn off at all if the kettle boils and the lid is open

For the part that touches water, are they all glass ? (Does the stainless steel base touch water?)

No- the bottom is steel. You can’t see it in the picture but that is the whole container- it sits on a base. I love this thing. I hate boiling water for tea. It’s perfect
