I bought a whole bunch of little four ounce containers of this stuff because when I was going to go do my mom's wooden garage door, my dad has pictures on the back of it and he's passed away, so she wants to keep the wood garage door, but it needed some work, a lot of work! So I was going to use DAP plastic wood (not knowing any other) and I bought two big tubs of it. The night before I was going to go do the work, I just happened across a comparison of 5 or 6 different kinds of wood filler, including the old favorite wood glue with sawdust. And the Famowood outscored every other kind in every category. I thought, well, huh, that's interesting. I've never even heard of it before. So I went and found some but it was only in little four ounce containers, like tiny little yogurt jars. I bought 10 of them & then I went to my mom's house and started working. I figured if they didn't work, I could return them. Oh my God, they were wonderful! It spread like a dream & covered beautifully! It worked so well I used it as a skim coat where the paint was chipped off to level the uneven surface. I called the manufacturer & they said if it was too think, I could add a bit of water until it was spreadable. I didn't need to. It made a beautiful skim coat & adhered really, really well. Super, super impressed. After the first little container of the Famowood I tried a little bit of the plastic wood on another area of the door to see what the difference was . It was awful. It rolled up behind the putty knife & fell out of the holes. I couldn't cover anything. It was horrible. I would have lost my mind if I was trying to use that instead of the famowood. The famowood was wonderful. It is also a LOT cheaper to buy in larger tubs (since I was gonna be using a lot of it) on Amazon! Couldn't find anything locally but the itty bitty ones which would have been fine to keep around the house BUT not for an entire garage door that hadn't been painted in 35 years! I used a scraper to smooth out the surface & it adhered like it was the actual wood. I primed & painted it & it looks so good!

Great product!! It is smooth and easy to apply. It has not cracked or shrunk on me. It dries incredibly hard. It’s the best wood filler I’ve ever used. The only downside is the container. The lid broke easily and I had to tape it shut.

Repairing and painting wood trim and plastic brick molding with just one coat. I would use exterior spackle or putty and it would take several applications to get it smooth this did it in one. I watched a professional on YouTube that does fantastic wood trim in TX. This is what he used so I gave it a try and it made my repairs so much easier. Worth the little extra it cost and well worth it.

I'm using this to fill old nail holes and scratches in 2" x 6" x 12' redwood to reuse in a deck. This filler comes out of the container smooth and easy to spread with a putty knife. It dries in about 30 min so there is plenty of time to work with it. It is easily sanded and will accept almost as much stain as the sanded wood. The color of the filler is close to the typical 2" x 6" of pine or Douglas-fir. I don't know if it comes tinted. This specific filler was recommended by a furniture refinisher on YouTube because it was so quick and easy to apply in a nice, smooth, thin, even layer an inch wide, or in the narrowest of cracks or scratches. I found this to be true.

Seems to be a very good latex wood filler. Smooth, good value for the volume easy to use, but takes a while to harden.

This stuff works great! Smooth and creamy and fills holes easily. Stainable and sands off to a smooth finish. Definitely recommend using this product. I have been woodworking for years and this is the best product I’ve found.

This is the best wood filler I have ever used. It spreads like butter, it has very low smell, it dries quickly and sands super easy. I highly recommend this product.

Very happy with this wood filler. Easy to use, clean & sand. On deeper filling it does sink in and take two applications as stated in instructions. Where possible I left the deeper spots over night but it's true to the instructions of sanding after 15 minutes. We used cabinet paint over it, took nicely. I filled round holes for shelves as we repurposed the unit. Took two fills and sanding but they are completely hidden. Will also be using for outdoor deck but haven't gotten to that yet... will update. Highly recommend so far, pleasure to use. Tad smelly but fine with window and door open.

Muy buen producto, es muy fácil de utilizar y rinde muy bien. Parece ser poco, pero si se sabe aplicar, rinde bien, también llega a secar, se puede agregar poca agua y funciona bien.

Never heard of the brand before but got the name from some woodworking forums where they unanimously agreed this was the best wood filler so I tried it. It is an excellent filler - easy to apply and work with, easy to sand. I can't really comment too much on its ability to absorb stain as I was using a hard wax finish but I suspect like all fillers they absorb stain differently from the wood so you'll have to do some creative stain touch ups to really blend.

Excellent filler with little to no cracking
