Works well with Kenwood TM-271, MC-59 mic
I was a little nervous about replacing my OEM cord, that the insulation is cracking and shedding in multiple places, with an aftermarket one. But now that I have purchased, received, and tested this one, it seems to be of good quality and function. Of course only time will tell how long the cable coating will last, but for now, this will do fine. It functions as it should, and there is no interference that I can tell while testing audio from my radio to my scanner. My 16 button dtmf keypad functions as it should as well. The rubber boots mated up well on the bottom of my MC-59 mic, as well as on the TM-271 (much easier to get a good fit if you slide the boot up to the base of the connectors before plugging them in). One observation I made, this has about 2-3 inches less coil on each end with comparison with my OEM cord, but it is plenty long enough (about 28-30 inches end to end coiled up). By the way, you can buy an ethernet extension cord and remote mount your mic away from the radio, if the radio is mounted somewhere where the coil cord is bothersome or in the way, which is a nice option. I bought a 3 foot UGREEN Cat 6 cable, and it also worked just fine in conjunction with this mic cord, although I really didn't need it, as the cord is long enough for what I need on my application.

Fits Kenwood TK-880
I have an older Kenwood TK-880 that I use for GMRS and the stock microphone cable rotted away. This cable connected perfectly and there have been no noticeable performance issues or interference.

Kenwood microphone replacement cord
This cord was purchased to replace a Kenwood microphone cord that had a defective RJ45 connector at the radio end of the coil cord. Attempts to replace the connector failed when it was discovered that the shield wire inside the cord won't fit into a new RJ45 connector. Trying to solder a short wire onto the original cord to solve this problem failed when solder wouldn't hold onto the copper shield wire. This replacement cord from Amazon was installed and worked perfectly. NO RF ingress onto the cable was noted. The new cable feels, looks and works like the original Kenwood mike cord, and costs about 25% of a new Kenwood mike cord.

Not exact fit
The cable works but the boots don't fit my radio.

Works on a TM-710a
I bought this for a TM-710a. The current cord had failing rubber coating. Worked but looked terrible. This is plug and play. So far all the radio features appear to work and audio reports are fine. 5 stars, nothing not to like.

Fixed audio issues and woodpecker in TM-D710
I was getting reports of sounding like I was talking on the mic while holding my head out the window, and getting the infamous Kenwood woodpecker in my signal. When cleaning the contacts on the old cable, mic, and radio body, this inexpensive cable fixed it and I'm getting good reports again.

Perfect OEM replacement for Microphone/handset cable
Product is a perfect replacement for the cable going bad. Cannot tell the difference between this one and the one which came with the radio. AND!!! it arrived far quicker than I expected. I purchased three, because a mobile unit left in a vehicle will have the sheathing wear out faster than in more 'temperature controlled' environments. So, I have replacements for later on, if needed!!

Shielded cable !
These cords have shielded cable as advertised. As they are shielded, there is no hum problem which you see with the non shielded cables. They look and feel very similar to the Kenwood original cables. I operate a communications shop, and will purchase these cables again.
