No, can't use app. Manual digital control at top back under flap.

Can I put this on a wallpapered wall without setting the house on fire?

Mine is on a wallpapered wall has benn for a couple of years now they don’t get to hot unless you turn temp right up but the heat comes out the top and the casing stays pretty cool.

Can I mount this on its side, so it’s tall and narrow

I think it would not work properly as the air flow over the element would not be right you could also damage the electronics with too much heat

Can I mount this heater vertically?

In principal it’s a heating element mounted inside a metal box so yes. BUT as there are ventilation slots on the top and bottom for air flow (cool air in the bottom, warm air out the top) mounting it vertically will trap the warm air inside the casing as the vents are now on the side and cause it to over heat and switch off Also the digital display will be on the side and hard to read for setting up and daily use.
