EXCELLENT hat, both features and material
I bought this one because it closely resembles a Tilley that sells for 10 times as much. I need it for work so I don't want to spend a lot of money on something. I liked it so much that after wearing it only a week I bought a second one just in case it's no longer available when I'm ready to get a replacement!Things I like about this hat compared to other boonie hats you see: the mesh has mostly closed holes. Other hats are see-through and allow the sun to directly hit your head when it's not directly over top of you, which really is most of the day! If you have thin hair, it's even worse. This mesh still allows heat and moisture to vent out.The very top of the hat has a thick foam-feeling material. The advantage of this is when the sun is actually hitting the top of your head, your skin is insulated from the sun's heat. Most other boonie hats have only a thin fabric on top, which would let the sun's heat to directly transmit to your head. The chin strap is easily removable. In this case, I thought the cord was absurdly thick and cumbersome. So I removed it entirely and replaced with a new shoe string. MUCH better. The velcro pouch in the top allows me to store the chin strap there when I don't need it, so it's completely out of the way.I have a large oval head. I typically wear 7 3/4 or XL hats. This fits me perfectly. It's snug, and just slightly snug enough that I don't need to always wear the chin strap in windy weather.I have no issues with the material or quality of workmanship. My only complaint, and it's minor, is that I got the tan color and it shows sweat marks pretty easily. But oh well, it serves the purpose.

Rumpled
The only thing disliked so far is the rumpled brim, it doesn't look real pretty like the expensive version of this hat. The chin string is thicker so it is not as cute. But: It blocks the sun like I wanted, it does not blow off when using the chin string. When I go inside and want to take it off I can hang it on my back like a Mexican cowboy in a 1960's movie - it does not get lost or get in the way. The ventilation works. It comes in a larger size than the expensive version of the similar hat.It appears to be durable and hopefully won't shrink when I wash it (have not tried that yet). The crown has thicker fabric than most of the "sun hats" out there, so it protects even if you don't have hair.I wear it for hiking and gardening so it does not need to look real pretty. I am too old to be picking up girls, so cute and pretty just don't matter near as much as affordable, effective, comfortable, sun protection.

A great buy at a great price
Im one of those very indecisive shoppers who scoured the Internet for a functional hiking hat that wasn't a $90 "Tilley" hat. I don't need what the pros need. I got on 2-3 day hikes every week and just wanted something that fit my big head and kept my neck and ears shielded. I ordered a Columbia hat and that was too small. This one for right away nice and comfortable and my favorite thing about going low on budget is that you really feel like you're getting a value as opposed to paying a higher price and then having to convince yourself it was worth it.I will spend money on things I think are worth it (my feet and barbecue) but this hat was exactly what I was searching for.

Serious Design Flaw for Baldies Like Me!
The hat seems well-made and solid. It is also a pretty cool style (good brim size, unlike many whose brims make you look like a walking patio umbrella). The reason I'm returning it is that the hat (50+ SPF = Good) has a one inch or so of mesh at the top of the hat (SPF unknown...but I think we all know). So if you are concerned about sun exposure on your dome, then you better schedule every hike at high noon...otherwise the sun will (almost certainly) burn your noggin.Too bad. Cool hat.

Withstood the Tanzanian Sun
Was a staple to my wardrobe the entire week. Looked good, fit well, and did a great job protecting from the heat and sun.

Breaths
I purchased this hat knowing it was on the borderline for fitting my fat head. I usually wear a 7.5 fitted cap (most brands). It fits pretty well. Once it gets wet and dries, it's a little tight, but other than that, it fits well enough. There's a little mesh panel on top that let's air in (if you don't let your head touch the top of the hat).It blocks out the sun well. Being adjustable is debatable. The drawstring seems really durable. I use this regularly for work.

Bought for a trip, now it is my go to gardening hat
Loved this product on a Caribbean cruise. Lightweight, easy to pack and very comfortable. String is a bit annoying, but needed in the wind. Now it is my go to gardening hat.
