Extra Variance from Game to Game
Not that any particular playthrough of Scythe will be the same, but if you play every week or so with your friends, it starts to feel a little stale. With this Modular board, it creates a different layout each time, making each game feel different and exciting! The only thing that could make this better is if it came with one or two more modular tiles so there could be more potential layouts, or if there were completely different layouts on both sides to make each game more unique.

Awesome addition.
Scythe is my most played game in the collection. It makes it to the table a few times a month. This modular board is perfect for players that have played a lot. It switches the layout of the board pertaining to the resources and starting positions of all factions. It’s not necessary to purchase if you own scythe but if you play it a lot and need to switch things up then this is a great addition.

Gamechanger! Increases difficulty and replayability
Modules fit perfectly on the normal-sized board. It’s a must-have for regular players, especially those who have memorized the build orders of the player and faction mat combinations. It definitely makes each game different! However, as it is random, some players might end up with unusually difficult starting positions, such as having a river split the initial two hexes or being completely surrounded by lakes, etc. We just chalk it up as part of the game and try our best to overcome the terrain handicaps. There is also a greater number of lakes with when using thre modular boards, which means there are less hexes to compete for. Pretty tight for 5 or more players!
