Can you swim whilst these tablets are in the skimmer??

Yes. I have a tablets in the skimmer all the time. Had a pool for 30 years, never a problem but remember to check ph and chlorine levels. Hope this helps.

Is this good to use in 12ft pool to keep it clear or do i need anything else?

I use about three tubs of the things every year sanitising my pool. I put them in a metered doser and pump about 8hrs per day with approximately 20,000l of water, always check your levels with a test strip however. Hope that helps.
