Why do these Q&A's cover several models? I can't determine which question applies to which model.

I can't answer your question but hope this helps, I originally purchased the G3260 thinking it printed on both sides automatically, it does print on both sides but you have to manually turn the paper over.  Amazon took it back (thank you Amazon) and I ordered the G6020.  It works great and does exactly what I wanted including auto double printing.  What I like the most are the tanks, you can actually see ink usage the old fashioned way and it is extremely economical, not like the printer it replaced, I won't mention names but it starts with Eps!

What’s the difference between pixma g6020 and maxify gx6020?

In simplest terms speed and color reproduction. The GX6020 is faster and provides a wider range of color definition. If you're just printing photos of the kids and pets and the family vacation for your photo album or the front of the fridge, the g6020 is an excellent machine. If you are doing professional prints (weddings, Grad pics, etc.) then you may want to upgrade to the GX6020. If this is not a multi-person office environment and you use it for the general printing of small documents the G6020 is fine. If you are printing large documents, with 50 to 100+ pages on a normal basis, then you may want to consider the GX6020 for speed.

That abbreviation stands for If This Then That. It is a program by which you can define certain actions to take place if a previous action occurs. For example (and not speaking about this specific unit), "If a Fax comes in, Then print it out immediately from Tray 1". Or "If a Fax comes in, Then wait until I decide to print it - but email it to me, as well". It depends on what scenarios have been created by someone working with the IFTTT app has created - or how much control over these functions is accessible through that app. It is NOT specifically related to Alexa, but there may be a tie-in using Alexa voice commands. You can search for IFTTT explanations online.

Does the generic ink work well?  my current cannon mx922 has very poor print quality with generic ink.

The LG Ink cartridges we used wored just as good as Canon's overpriced product. The printer itself(Pixma G6020) lasted two years and went to heaven.
