BANKS 42766 Monster Ram Intake System with Boost Tube

Spools up way faster and sounds great.Not sure why the instructions said to remove a bunch of wires and plugs for the elbow, I didn’t have to disconnect anything. I’m not sure why they want you to ground the grid heater either, and if they do then why didn’t they send the M8 1.25 bolt for it??I didn’t have to remove the washer fluid reservoir to fit the boost tube but some people might need to. Everything basically slid right into place.I put the boost tube in first with the rubber coupling attached and then I put the elbow in and getting the rubber coupling from the boost tube to fit over the elbow was the hardest part. Lots of wiggling and swear words but it worked.

Product installed easily, I did have to file down part of the housing to make it fit. Truck runs great and pulls strong! I tow a 30ft fifth wheel trailer and you can definitely tell the difference! Not sure if I see any improvement in mileage!

Easy install and have noticed better throttle response, quicker turbo spool, & increased MPG in city driving.

I like that this item allowed much more air into my engine. I’m seeing over 20mpg in town with a 1ton dully. With the exhaust change too I’m not seeing anymore black smoke either.

Delivered on time, no damage and all parts were included.I have a 6 speed manual transmission and had a very noticeable turbo lag.Now it has no lag at all.All around acceleration is improved, it has been too windy to get accurate fuel numbers on the highway, but appears to have gained mileage in town by around 2 mpg.

I must redact the review I had posted earlier. After some communication with the Amazon vendor, Warehouse Reserve, the vendor graciously worked with me and the original defective part was replaced. I installed it and the installation was a great success! I am very, very satisfied with the Banks product and it is working great just as advertised. I regret that I felt the need to write such a negative review but I initially experienced consternation with the product and thought I had no alternative.Everything has been resolved and done so in a very professional and courteous manner. I very much appreciate the assistance and service I received from Warehouse Reserve and the Banks factory. I must extend uber kudos to both of these firms for their great response and help!! Please disregard the previous review...try the Banks Monster Ram Intake System!!I have heard about Banks and its products for diesel engines for many years. Banks is said to have a great reputation. I have a Dodge 5.9 Cummins truck and I was excited when I read about the Banks Monster Ram Intake System. It supposedly provides a 56% increase in airflow thereby increasing performance and, according to the literature, increases mileage. After driving the truck for a day, I noticed NO increase in performance but have not yet checked mileage. So far, I am disappointed with the product. If I can at least get a 2-3 mpg increase, I suppose it may be worth the difficulty I went through in the installation (was not an easy job).The biggest disappointment I had was with the quality of the product. I had a hell of a time installing the six hex nuts to cover the ports to be used for water-meth injection. One of the ports would not accept the hex nut at all – had to JB Weld the nut onto the port which then compromised the integrity of the system. Don't know how long the epoxy welded hex nut will last. I would think Banks would pre-install these hex nuts and then the customer could simply remove them as needed for water-meth. It would be a hell of a lot easier to remove them than to install them. Think the quality control of Banks is lacking as these hex bolts are quite difficult to install; apparently there is a threading issue with them.Also, the four stud bolts used to mount the manifold onto the engine did not accept the two nuts to be used to lock onto each other (these bolts have no bold head, only threads on both sides) so one could mount them into the holes on the engine block. I had to use channel lock pliers to install these and therefore could not tighten them to specified torque. This is also a compromise since this is not up to spec. It would be a lot easier to have provided bolts similar to the factory bolts, with a six-point head which would be much easier to install (one step vs. five). I just don't understand why this cannot be done. Another lacking quality issue.Finally, the installation owner's manual states to remove the harness bolt from the factory manifold and install it on the Monster ram (this bolt secures an electrical harness to the manifold). THERE WAS NO PLACE ON THE MONSTER RAM MANIFOLD TO ATTACH THIS BOLT!! Again, where is the quality control?Very, very disappointed with the quality of this product and the reputation of Banks. I would think long and hard before investing in this product.
