NOT designed for a PONTOON boat.
Good quality, and stylish looks with the shiny Chrome, it would be great on the back of a ski boat or runabout, where you are installing it to the underside of a flat fiberglass plate or deck. But most pontoon boats have a 4 inch tall aluminum bumper all the way around the boat. So if you screw this to the underside of the deck, you can't pull out the ladder. (Notice there are four photos of this product installed on a boat. NONE of them are pontoon boats.) Alternatively, you could mount it to the aluminum cross runners in the base, but the runners are only one inch wide, and the holes are two inches apart. So at best you could only use four of the eight mounting holes. MAYBE that would work, but I have trouble believing it would still hold 600 pounds. It looks to me like it would require a special mounting bracket to do it properly, and that might cost more than the ladder itself. For my pontoon boat, I returned this telescoping version, and purchased the Aluminum โfixed ladderโ version (non-telescoping) that takes into account the four-inch bumper on most pontoon boats.

This is a great little ladder for the swim deck
I could not find the exact replacement for my 46 foot Maxum, but this gem did the trick and for the right price. I could not tell you many times and hundreds of miles I drug this thing behind the boat forgetting to stow it, but it handled it fine. Seems sturdy enough, but I would not abuse it.

life saver
as a 59 year old it is harder to get in and out of the boat. this was really long with making getting in and out so much easier. It also works great when the boat is on the trailer we just put it down with getting things in and out or even working in the boat. Great so far
