Genacol Original – Hydrolyzed Collagen Joint Supplement, 30-Day Supply

This was recommended by my doctor for my joints. Never missed drinking Genacol. I never had any joint pains with this along with some exercise

Great med exceeds expectations

In my case, the antibiotic Cipro (which now carries a blackbox FDA warning label for tendon ruptures) nearly destroyed the tendons in my ankles, particularly my right ankle. I tried a variety of approaches to repairing the damage, or even lessening the pain, so far this is the only thing that worked. Prior to taking Genacol's collagen product, I couldn't walk up or down the stairs in my home without severe ankle pain (I had to take each step one at a time, walking sideways to limit tendon flex). I could hardly sleep at night because any shift of my right foot would generate tremendous pain. It should be noted, that I'm a healthy 30 year old male with zero history of any ankle / tendon / joint pain prior to Cipro. It took five to seven days to begin removing the inflammation from my ankles, and for about 3/4 of the pain to go away. I have no idea why this removed inflammation, but it was a dramatic difference (the inflammation was the result of the tendon damage). Another week and maybe 85% to 90% of the pain was gone. In the case of Cipro tendinitis, Cipro has literally damaged the collagen in the tendons by depriving them of nutrients such as magnesium. I'm hoping other people suffering from this will read my review, as it took me five or six months to run across this product (a time during which I suffered immensely). I've been taking the capsules for about a month. Recently I took part in an endurance race, and both ankles held up amazingly well; unthinkable just 45 days ago. I'm optimistic that the Genacol product will assist my body in growing replacement collagen or repairing the damaged collagen over the course of 60 to 90 days of use (takes about three months for newly formed collagen to form into type 1 collagen that makes up 87% of tendon collagen). It's hard to tell who and what exact scenarios this product will work for, but given the modest price (compared to most things in medicine), it's absolutely worth trying it. I highly recommend it. The change I felt in my right ankle was practically miraculous.

The directions on the bottle state to take 3 pills at bedtime. I took 1 pill initially as I did not know how Collagen would affect me. Then after a few days, I took 2 pills. I got heartburn (have GERD) but I take medication for this problem. So now I take 1 (one) pill with my last meal of the day . The heartburn is not that bad now. I would never recommend taking 3 pills initially until you know how your body is going to react. Not sure if I will be buying any more of this medication.
