The fabric is flexible like cotton, it has a finer weave than canvas.

How much will these shrink?

Not much at all. They do tend to stretch a hair if you wear them more than one day.

i usually wear the B01 or the B11 relaxed fit. can anyone give me a comparison

Order the same size but these will fit a bit more snug. I have worn the B01s for around 9000 years and use these for lighter construction days or days when I meet clients. They are simply a lighter duty pant that fits a little tighter. I really like them but still use the B01s as well.

Do they have pockets for knee pads to go in?

They do, but the pocket is much longer (lower on the leg) than the washed duck logger double front pants. I used "soft knees" in the logger pants, in these, those knee pads sit on my shins and don't cover my knees. You have to use the Carhartt branded knee pads in this pant.
