Really Great Tool 👍🏽
The separable parts, of course, allow for a wide variety of uses . Perfect for residential old work and the like .Due to separable parts though, the bit, of course, may not be as strong and stable as a whole bit inseparable . So in order to use this Greenlee product effectively and maximize its life, it should be used skillfully and with caution . For ex; because separable parts the torque potential is lower . So if you know you’re drilling into wood WITH NAILS, precaution should be taken . This Greenlee bit isn’t guaranteed to stand up to every time to wood WITH NAILS or something else similar .All in all, it’s a really great tool that allows for a variety of uses, but must be used with caution .

More than a bit frustrating
Poor reviews that appeared to be based on 'incorrect' use of this device - particularly drilling at high speed - led me in hubris to believe I could succeed where others had failed. The shorter length and more flexible shaft by comparison to competitors' drills appealed to me. But my efforts succumbed to two very fundamental design flaws affecting this device. The first is that the spring-loaded collet that holds the bit in place is merely set by a hydraulic press (not brazed or welded) and it was knocked loose in use, undoing the connection between the bit and rod. Fortunately, it broke in the process of completing the hole and fell into the basement below, but the rod is now useless. My second attempt using the other rod included in the kit ended up getting left in the wall because the drill bit is shorter than the double plate I was drilling through and the top shoulder of the bit is square, causing it to permanently lodge when I was attempting to pull it to clear chips. Abandoned in place, I turned to a different brand, Klein, successfully.

great tool for wiring
I've carried these bits on my van for the longest time. They are very handy because you can pick you size rather than trying to use a 6ft long bit. Well built and a great tool for anyone who is fishing wires.

Quick Release Won't Lock
I was initially excited for this product, and eagerly awaited its arrival under my Christmas tree (I dropped numerous hints to my spouse). I liked the idea of being able to change out auger bits instead of needing to purchase an entirely new flexbit every time it goes dull. With my work, I use flexbits all the time, so I was looking forward to this potential save in money for replacement bits.Klein has something similar, but the 3/16" and 1/4" options are for round bits, not the 1/4" hex that augers typically come in. So I was pretty excited about the 1/4" hex that Greenlee offered. Quick release is a bonus, but I'd have also been excited about set-screw, so long as it fits a hex base.Unfortunately, the quick release is EXTREMELY quick... as in, it doesn't lock at all. It never worked, not even right out the box as I was sitting on the couch playing with the toy I had been anticipating for the last 6 weeks. When I use it, I wrap electrical tape to keep from losing the auger up in some customer's ceiling or wall space. I haven't lost it yet, but I also haven't yet tried drilling downward... although I can just use rigid extensions for all of my downward drilling.I'm disappointed. I'll keep using it for now, but I'll also keep my eyes peeled for a different manufacturer.

The quick-change feature works great and the spring-steel shafts mean they can bend like ...
My partner in our electric biz SWEARS by these! I've used his so much, I had to get my own set. The quick-change feature works great and the spring-steel shafts mean they can bend like one of those Dversibits, but with a huge bonus: you can change the bit on the end if it's dull or the wrong size!

Delivery was quick.
First time I used the long shank it snapped on me. But the small one works great.

Good idea, no holes tho
Greenlee used to mean quality tools, I have greenlee tools over 30 years old. But like everything quantity over quality, the idea of quick change is great, but the auger bit is garbage haven't even been able to drill thru 1 2x4 yet using 4 new greenlee bits, the extensions do not hold up to an impact, and the bits get stuck in the end, have used this in Dewalt and Milwaukee drills and impacts, I do not recommend this product.
