This calms my dog down and allows me to bath and dry with ease.
In trying to save money by grooming, my dog, I noticed that the groomers that I used in the past use this for their dogs, so I decided to purchase one so that I can give my dog a bath whenever I need it to. It really works very well. Beside it looking very funny on her, I believe itโs very calming to my dog. Sheโs not afraid and she seems to stay longer in the tub while I give her a bath. I also use it when I need to dry her and sheโs not barking at me when I have around her ears.

Amazing
For the simple design and the degree of skepticism that we had when placing this on our dog, it absolutely exceeded all of our expectations. Our 65lb pitbull terrier is terrified of any loud noises (thunder, garbage truck banging outside, bangs from the tv, fireworks, etc.) and will immediately run back to the bedroom to hide until the noises subside. This was how we actually ended up adopting her when she was 6 months old. She apparently took off on July 4th from wherever she was and was found in a rural area by a rescue agency, hungry and scared. We have tried to take her with us on July 4th outings ever since, but it was always panic and run away regardless of what we did to soothe her. We decided to try this device on her yesterday to see how she did. We took the advice on the instructions to work with her wearing it while it was calm. Each time, she seemed completely at ease and would fall asleep with it on. This year, we went to a concert venue where they would be having fireworks overhead. Before the main fireworks show started, there were other neighborhoods and individuals around us that were popping off their own personal fireworks, which were still loud enough to cause a substantial boom. As soon as she heard the first one, she stood up and started pacing around, rapidly looking for an escape route. We immediately placed the hoodie on her and she sat down, then eventually laid down even while fireworks were going on all around us. Simply amazing. I think she even fell asleep at one point. When the main fireworks came on, she sat up and was a bit shaky, but then laid back down but was a bit shaky so we eventually put her in the car with the hoodie on to not cause her too much distress. We could not be more impressed with how well this worked for her considering she typically would definitely not have tolerated the smaller fireworks, let alone most of the larger fireworks show. The quality of the hoodie is nice, thick and strong enough to be a bit snug but not constrictive in any way. For our pup, we purchased a L. The color is bright and vibrant. Overall, it's easy enough to stretch to get it in place but not too tight to where it is uncomfortable. It may not work for all dogs universally, but at the price point, it seems like it'd be worth a shot for those who have anxious dogs. Our other dog could not be any more opposite and is not scared of any noises at all. He sat through the entirety of the fireworks show. Pictures are of one of the trial runs at home and then one at the actual fireworks show. Great product, highly recommend.

Works well!
My beagle mix didn't know what to do with herself when I put it on but she remained calm during the fireworks and never jumped down to find a place to hide.

This is a miracle product!
I wish I wouldโve known about this product 13 years agoโฆ my little girl is scared to death of fireworks, and we just hate this time . She couldโve used this every single year. She is now a 13 1/2 year-old (Maltese Bichon) with sundowning syndrome who has never even liked having a doggy T-shirt on her so when my twin sister suggested this type of product, I was like thereโs no way that she is going to be comfortable wearing this, but knowing how scared she is of fireworks I thought well with all the reviews I decided it was worth a try. Let me tell you something right now we are experiencing severe thunderstorms with very loud thunder and in between that are very loud and obnoxious fireworks, and I was hesitant to put it on her because I had done a trial run earlier today when it came and she bowed her head like as if she had done something wrong and was not having it so I took it off of her and thought well I guess Iโll have to return it. I finally relented tonight and I put it on her and honest to God within 10 minutes, she is next to me with tons of fireworks going off and occasional very loud thunder and she is snoring like a babyโฆ Absolutely unbelievable and incredible. I just wish I wouldโve had this for prior years when I didnโt know how to calm her except to heavily medicate her. Thank you so much to the maker of this awesome product. I highly recommend it. And just for sizing purposes my little girl is 13.5 pounds and I got her the small and it fits her snug but obviously what I think might be a little too snug she doesnโt because like I said sheโs happily sleeping and snoring.

Made barking worse due to noise muffling
I tried this on my pembroke corgi who has very large ears, to help muffle the sounds of fireworks and thunder. Age 7, weight 37 lbs, purchased size M/L. As far as quality goes, the material is very soft, extremely stretchy, and easy to use. Unfortunately, he hated wearing it. They didnโt fully cover his ears when they lay back, unless I rolled it all the way down his neck like a turtle neck. He also wouldnโt move while wearing them and acted like a cat when you try to put clothes on them. The worst part is that he could still hear the scary sounds, but not in a way that made sense to him, so he barked more instead of less, and he couldnโt hear his own bark well enough, so he barked louder and growled more (which he never does). Long story short, it didnโt work for my corgi, it made him more agitated, he couldnโt move, but the material quality seems strong and soft. I didnโt test the water resistance and I did appreciate the value for the money. Iโm returning this item, but I could see it working for another dog.

Absolutely love the happy hoodie!!
Just for reference my dog is an Australian cattle dog/catahoula/hound dog/supermutt/pit mix who weighs about 70lbs and I ordered the large happy hoodie. It fits pretty snug -but perfectly- for what we are using it for. It has plenty of stretch to accommodate any breed around his size. My dog has terrible allergies and he gets a bare minimum of 1 medicated bath a week. Hopefully one day when his immunotherapy has had enough time to work we won't have to bathe as often, but I think baths will always be a very big part of his life. It's very important that I dry him as thoroughly as possible because moisture causes his yeast to flare really badly. I recently purchased a forced air dog dryer and it's really loud. He was a good boy and behaved while being dried, but it is so loud when the air hits him that it hurts my ears, so I know it hurts his. He would move around a lot while trying to dry him. He tolerated the entire experience, but it was definitely not his favorite thing ever. I've seen the happy hoodie on the girl with the dogs for years, so after his first blow dry I knew I needed to order one. The difference it made was fantastic. It's like as soon as I put it on, he just froze in place. He was probably 90% less fidgety while I dried him this last time. I was even able to dry his face without him freaking out. He's pretty tolerant of anything I do, even if he doesn't care for it, but this just leveled up our game. I was concerned that his ears and head would still be really wet where the happy hoodie sits, but it was surprisingly dry when I took it off, the happy hoodie must have absorbed quite a bit of that water while I blow dried him. It really helped a ton while drying him and made the process much less stressful. If I had a second one I could even utilize it during his baths to keep him a little calmer. He has to stand and allow the shampoo to soak on him for 10 minutes and about 2 or 3 minutes in he starts crying. The only way he doesn't cry is if I sit and literally hold his paw the entire time lol. We just opened our outdoor shower for the season and it's a million times easier to bathe him there than inside, so I'm usually showering while he soaks. It's the most pitiful thing, he cries non stop the entire time he's waiting for a rinse. I think wearing the happy hoodie would help a ton! I don't know that he would tolerate wearing it for long periods of time, but if we ever have any ear drama I can see it coming in handy. He did try to remove it the first time I put it on him, but with some training I bet he would tolerate it as long as he was supervised. He does get ear infections from time to time due to the allergies, and last time he bruised his ear up shaking his head and I was worried about him getting a hemotoma. A. XL happy hoodie would probably help a ton in a situation where he is constantly shaking his head. The 4th of July is a mere 2 days away and I'm sure my neighbor will have the loudest fireworks possible, so we will have to trial it for loud sounds. My dog is the sort to bark at the sky when it thunders, but there's a certain volume threshold that will cause him anxiety. Sometimes that same neighbor sights in one of his pew pews that is insanely loud and I could see this being helpful in those situations. I'll have to update this review as we experience more uses for the happy hoodie. He is not a big fan of getting his nails clipped. I accidently pinched his quick ONCE, didn't even draw blood, it was just the way I clipped that nail that caused him some discomfort, but now he has anxiety every time. The next time I have to trim his nails, I'm using the happy hoodie. I will have to report back lol. I absolutely love the happy hoodie and whoever thought of it is a genius. I can see so many different uses for it, it has a ton of potential! I think it was worth every penny, and I'll likely order another one so I have one to put on him during his bath and another while drying him. It's lightweight and feels like it's made of high quality material. Definitely very pleased with it so far and I can't wait to try it out for more than just baths!

Calming, Comfortable, and Effective
The large fit our 80 lbs Shepard mix just fine as it is stretchy and breathable. Definitely recommend for anxious dogs who don't like loud noises. So happy that i gave this a chance. Our dog LOVES it. I was worried she would find it annoying but it's the total opposite and seems as comfy as an eye mask would be for a human because she was snoozing harder with it on during the 4th of July when she would normally be in her thunder basket shaking in my closet. We didn't even need to use any medications. Last fireworks event, our dog was inconsolable. Now she is snoring on the couch like any other night. Very impressed with how effective such a simple and seemingly comfortable intervention this is. It is also a very affordable option.

Effective but hard to keep on
Works but slips off my dogs ears very easily. I just wish it would stay on him

Good idea
She hates it, however curiously it did mean that I could get all her claws done with no hissy scratching.
