Very Good Quality Product
The bolts themselves were good quality, it just took a lot of effort to get them to fit in the spot needed (door's fault, not the product). I measured what I needed and this was the closest to the fit that I could find. If anyone is planning on replacing your flush bolts, get the closest size to fit you can find and plan on a lot of grinding to make it fit. In the end, they work well and look good. Even with the extra work, it was still better than spending hundreds of $$$ on replacing the Astragal.

Better than other(s)
My use case: Front double door, normally closed half, top & bottom. Prior device was notched into door, very flimsy, expected to be one finger pushed up/down. This control, flip out and across, is much less prone to getting stuck in place. The thickness of the metal parts is about the same. Not too flimsy, not Swiss strong. 5 for ease of installation, decent price, looks nice. Shorter by 30% of the device that was there before, used wood filler to backfill the gap. The prior one was probalby not cheap and this was a screw in replacement. Screws were shorter by half with this vs old (easier screw-in, probably not as strong).

Great replacement
We have a set of french doors that we purchased 20 years ago from habitat for 50 dollars. They are solid wood with glass with louvers inside the glass. The outside is clad in heavy anodized aluminum. For security and weather proofing. They were custom doors that still had a 1000 dollar retail sticker on them. A friend of mine who a few years later passed away from cancer created a frame and help install them on our house. I still think of him every time I use those doors. Anyway the old latches that these replaced were I think a mixed bit of better and worse quality. They were heavier cast metal than these are but with a smaller diameter post that was one piece for the length of the slide mechanism. The older cast metal I think was a bit more brittle than these but these are a bit more light weight stamped stainless frames. Design wise I like these better as the mechanism is much easier to use and never be able to accidentally come open on the top due to gravity as I have heard other people complain about with my original design with lesser quality latches than we had. These were about 1 inch shorter than our old latches but were a perfect fit for width and depth. I had to use a rubber mallet to gently tap them into the original channels with out having to make any modifications. The post being a larger diameter, I had to drill out the post holes in the frame of door top and bottom to the new diameter. For me this worked out well as I was able to get a snugger fit than we originally had, leading to less play in the door when latched. I would purchase these again.

A great update for older sliding locks
My old double-door had the type of locks that slide up/down to move the bolt into the hole. The one at the top of the door would sometimes start to slide down thanks to gravity, whenever the main door would open/close and vibrate. I found myself constantly checking it to make sure it stayed locked. I bought these since they had the same apparent dimensions as the old ones and figured it'd be a pretty quick replacement. Of course, upon removing the old locks, I realized they didn't route out the entire area in the side of the door. The old ones, in other words, were kind of cheap and not solid blocks. So I had to spend a little time chiseling out the pocket to install these. These are wonderful updates, but just be prepared to do a little work if you're updating an older door. A sharp set of chisels and maybe a multi-max tool for speeding things along. I also had to slightly widen the existing holes in the top/bottom of the door frame since the alignment of the bolt wasn't quite the same, but at least that was easier to accomplish. In the end, I know have these great lever bolts and I don't have to worry about them working themselves open on their own, and more secure since you can't bypass them with a wire or something from the outside. You can only open/close them when the main door is open. They're also so much more solid feeling than the old set. The bolt seems higher quality, and having a full, solid body embedded in the door makes me think it'd hold up better if someone tried to kick it in.

These are brilliant!!!
I have 2 pairs of 10-14 year old French doors on the back of the home I just purchased. The cheap friction based plastic slides had cracked/failed and otherwise looked like they were on their last leg from years of brutal Florida sun and the pins were rusting from the salt air. These stainless steel assemblies effectively were direct replacements although they install differently then the originals. The originals that were still intact required the dooe be removed to get them to slide out, otherwise they stopped at the floor. These go in from the side and can be installed with the door in situ. The units were ever so slightly thicker and were sitting a little proud of the door frame. A little sanding/tweaking was needed on the tighter door set. The other set fit just fine. I needed to drill larger pin holes as these are a bigger diameter. Once installed, they look great, work even better and was so glad they were dimensionally near perfect in most respects. 2 mm less deep and I wouldn't have had one issue. Highly recommend.

Good product for the money
Received this product a while back and they looked good. Finally got it install them and the bolt action was perfect and also tested the holding strength to a point. They held up well and the pin did not bend.
