A GREAT Seat!
I have had my 3 Kohler Wellington K-4504 toilets now for 30 years. I have been extremely satisfied with them, but like all toilets - the seats, or more likely, the cheap plastic tightening screws eventually break. This is usually caused by the seat not staying firmly in place, and wanting to slide sideways. That is what happened more than once with each of my toilets over time. Prior to Amazon, and being able to order exactly what I was looking for, I ended up buying "look-alikes" at the local hardware store - that did not look like the original. They eventually broke as well. So the time came again where I needed to replace one of them. But NOW, with the newer "close slowly" seats, PLUS being able to order an EXACT color-matched seat made by Kohler - I ordered this model to try it out. Not only did it perfectly match the Almond color of the toilet, but amazingly stays firmly in place when sitting on it. There is something about the silicone (or what ever they are made from) pads you install on the seat that really adhere to the porcelain toilet. I weigh 250 pounds currently, and would have to really twist and wrench myself around to try and make it move. It really stays firmly in place. It was absolutely simple to install. Takes about 10 minutes - where I spent more time cleaning the surface from the prior seat being in place than it took me to mount the new seat. The new one has steel bolts and very clever self-seating washer lugs that fit up into the mounting holes. You could literally mount the seat blindfolded it's so easy! I was skeptical of the plastic snap-in mounting brackets at first, but they really hold the seat firmly in place. I like the ability to simply pull the seat out to clean underneath it, then snap it back in place when done. - And I LOVE the slow-closing seat and cover! After testing it for about a month, I liked it so well, that I bought 2 more and replaced my other toilets with these brand new, matching seats! …… It's these "little things" in life that make all the difference! :-)

Great Replacement Toilet Seat
This is a great toilet seat and once it is installed it is easy to remove and clean the area behind the seat. There is one issue which has been mentioned here frequently. On many of Kohler's one piece toilets, the area below is sealed so you cannot access the "nut" that holds the bolts. In their infinite wisdom (sarcasm) Kohler has used spreading metal molly bolts which most of the time can be difficult if not impossible to remove. I found their removal tool useless. I have three of these Kohler one piece toilets so I got plenty of practice removing the old seats. For one I used a soldering iron to melt through the lower part of the old seats plastic hinge attaching the old toilet seat to the base. It is a lot easier to do that than to using a special saw, file or even dremel cutting tools. If you luck and the old bolts haven't corroded you may be able to just unscrew the old bolts. I had no such luck. I had to do whatever it took to get the bolts out and then the metal molly bolts they screw into. You will just have to read other reviews to see what they did which includes using a dremel cutting blade, drilling down thru the bolts, etc. Now no way do you want to use the steel molly bolts Kohler supplies again because you will face the same removal issues if you ever need to replace the seat again. Another viewer suggested rubber & stainless steel well nuts. That is what I used. They are inexpensive and easy to install and will be easy to replace if that is ever necessary. The current six pack Amazon description of these follows; (Pack 6 Not 2 H2o M5 Neoprene Well Nut Inc Stainless Steel Pozi Screw (Pack 6) Long Type D). Good Luck. Kohler if your engineers are reading this, stop using those steel moly bolts and nuts and switch to the well nuts on your one piece toilets that have no access to the lower nut.

Best on the market!
OK, it is a toilet seat. Do we really need a review? In this case, YES!This toilet seat is so easy to install, looks great, is super easy to clean, is stable, and is great with kids. No more of the slamming of toilet seats from kids or their friends when they come over. No more stains on the underside of seats I've seen because this one is non-porous. And, many years of great use.The only negative is the price. I bought a few of these about five years ago for a house we have since moved from. I loved them so much, I went to purchase a few more and was shocked that they were almost twice as much. The Amazon price was similar to the big box stores. I was able to get about 30% off on Amazon Prime Day so bought several then to bring the price back down to something more reasonable.

Works well - Pain to install
I have mixed feelings about this toilet seat. The installation was a pain in the you know what. First, you had to press the front bumpers into depressions under the seat. There are no mechanical fasteners, nor does it have any glue to help hold them onto the seat. They are simply held on by tension. I can see a possible problem down the road as the seat expands and contracts with temperature and humidity, where they could simply fall out and into the toilet. The instructions for the rest of the installation were not clear - they referenced a part that looked like some square washers with a plus sign you were supposed to orient towards the front of the seat before inserting the bolts. The accessory bag only had the bolts and the nuts in it - no plastic washers with a plus sign on them. So, I installed without. The "bolts" are also weird with a slit on either side of them. I attempted to screw them onto the bolts, only to have them rotate without grabbing the threads. After much aggravation, I was finally able to push them onto the bolt until the nut hit the underside of the toilet. At that point, after screwing them for what seemed like forever, they would finally "bite" and snug up. Basically got the seat installed through trial and error - the instructions were not much help! Once installed, it works as it should. Both seat and lid are slow closing. However, it does make a "clicking" noise as it closes. Don't know if this is normal or not, but it just doesn't seem quite right. A slow close seat on another toilet does not make any sound when closing so... Looks wise, well, it's a toilet seat. The only complaint about looks is that there is a fairly large gap between the bottom of the seat and the rim of the toilet. Doesn't affect usability, just aesthetics. The seat itself is OK to sit on, but I can't recommend if you tend to sit for long periods of time. I haven't tried the quick disconnect yet, but if there are issues with it, I will update the review. Overall, the seat and function are okay.

Fast delivery and as expected
Solid, clean-looking toilet seat that feels sturdier than expected. Easy to install with standard hardware and fits well with no shifting once tightened. Smooth finish, comfortable, and a noticeable upgrade from our old one. Actually fit on my Toto toilet too! No complaints so far.

Inexpensive way to freshen up and upgrade your bathroom
This is a great toilet seat! I have six of them now.Just a tap and the seat and lid slowly lower themselves. My wife is very happy that the lid is always down!I have a friend with a bad back and he loves that he doesn't have to bend to put the seat and lid down. The quick-release catches allow you to keep it cleaner than a conventional toilet seat, as the area which you cannot clean is protected and much smaller. It is also easier to clean the seat itself, as it is quickly removed. The seat is made of plastic, and has a high-quality look. The chamfered lid is nice. No excess flashing or flaws. Very easy to install.Kudos to Kohler on improving the packaging within the last year. One year ago I ordered a seat, and it arrived with the hinges broken. It was obvious why: the seat was rattling around loose in the box. The box has now been redesigned to hold the seat in place. The recent batch of five I ordered were all intact.I didn't realize how yellowed and aged my old toilet seats were until I saw them next to one of these. An inexpensive way to freshen up and upgrade my bathroom!

A seat fit for a king.
Every king needs the right throne. Mine is an elongated bowl comfort height. This seat doesn’t stain like the painted wood models when you use bleach cleaner on it. It’s very important to have a pristine seat. The quiet close makes ruling my kingdom discrete and won’t wake up my queen or any of my loyal subjects in the middle of the night. Installing this seat is extra simple. Just pull up the plastic tabs and then the seat pulls off for easy cleaning of the porcelain below. It also makes it simple to replace the seat later if needed. Unlike lesser kings who’s throne seats are connected with plastic bolts and plastic nuts, this one comes with stainless steel bolts and sturdy plastic nuts that help keep the seat tight on the throne. After a long day of conquering foreign lands....or going to the mall, this is the only throne seat for me. All hail this seat.

Amazing experience
When I woke this morning, I didn't know that changing my broken toilet seat will be the highlight of my day. I had received the new one a few days ago and I was too lazy to do it right away. So the box stayed there, looking at me and begging for attention everytime I passed by. At one point, I was feeling guilty but you know, I had a lot of things to do, like watching a 485th episode online and watch a tutorial on how to make a swan with a face tissue.. So when I decided that today was THE day, it was obvious that the new toilet seat was super excited to finally be able to do his job. I started to remove the old one, which was pretty simple. I did the unboxing of the new one with a lot of expectations. Like "are we gonna have the same chemistry than with the other one?", "does the new one will support me everyday like the old one?".. Finally, after 5 minutes, the new one was in place and I stepped back to see the result. To be honest, I was totally amazed on how easy it was to change it. The fit was perfect, the quality was great. That was clearly one of the most satisfying thing to do. I was even thinking about undo everything just to do it again. And maybe keep the old one for the days that I feel useless, so I can do it again and have the feeling that I have accomplished something that not a lot of people could do... You know.. it takes some specific skills to change a toilet seat........!Seriously, I didn't know what to write as a positive review, so I decided to go all in. I had a bit of time to kill in the train on my way to work. This product is a no-brainer, easy to install, and the "quiet-close seat" is definitely a must have. I paid 41$, pretty the same price as in store. It wasn't available in store for the moment, so that's why I ordered it on Amazon.

Smart and solid design
This is the 3rd Kohler seat cover I have ordered, based on 2 Kohler seat installations done years ago, where I was upgrading the covers on waterridge toilets, installation done about 3 years ago, which have performed well. Both previously installed units have been problem free, for years now. This 3rd installation was replacing a 5 year old Toto seat cover which was also high quality and the installation of the Kohler was easy and the unit is solid and stable, easy close and functional. The fixture of this Kohler cover is very smart, there are stainless steel bolts that attach solidly into well embedded nuts, with clips, bolts are installed on toilet on toilet separately from the seat cover. The seat cover then just clips into the installed clips in a very simple mechanism, making installation and removal of the cover for thorough cleaning a very easy chore.Pros:Easy installation and maintenanceVery solid and stableCons:NoneA solid performer, highly recommendhave been problem free, installations [...]
